Prishe is confirmed on the roster as a secret character and the new trailer hints at Gilgamesh (not the FFXI one, the other one that wanders between FF worlds picking fights).

Prishe? Why Squeenix why? There is a plethora of characters to pick for FFXI and you pick the biggest example of a Mary Sue there is?

No Gilgamesh? Shadow Lord? Trion? Naja Salaheem? Ayame? Rahal? Curia? Lilisette? Tenzen? Gessho? Excenmille? Lilith?

Its amazing that you quote me then say "No Gilgamesh?" when I said its strongly suggested Gilgamesh is in.

Also, Prishe is better than all those characters. FFXI fans demanded Prishe, kinda like people wanted Yuna. Nomura added the characters people wanted.

Firewind means FFXI Gilgamesh (in reference to the fact that Prishe is not that great an FFXI character to pick.)

I've never understood the fanbases' fixation with Prishe besides being a bunch of loli-loving perverts, but she at least became interesting at the end. She looks a bit older in Dissidia, so that's cool. I would've preferred Tenzen, but this'll do.

I think it was the fact that she was a bit of a tomboy, swore like a sailor and flashed a room or Tarus and Mithra.

Also, Lilisette was waaaay more lolicon and even written like she was a flash-in-the pan JP teen idol.

Also, why would you pick FFXI Gilgamesh over any the one that crosses over into other FF games? Battle at the Big Bridge is his jam. Maybe FFXI Gilgamesh will be an alt skin, but old school Gilgamesh wins the popular vote, I'd hope.

The characters were picked on pure popularity alone.

I'm still a tad suspicious that this is all of the characters, though. we're still three month out from release in the west and why would they include Prishe and Emperyal Paradox, but Doomtrain without a character that ever visited that place?

I believe it was Sabin, Gau, Cyan and Shadow that played the Doomtrain storyline, but that place was most relevant to Cyan. And as far as FF Samurai go, I'd take Cyan or Auron over Tenzen in a heartbeat.

Again, she's an assist character in the retail release if you purchase the "Prologus" demo. That's available on JP PSN right now, no word on the western demo, though I doubt a "paid" demo will fly here.

There's another good reason to have Prishe in Dissidia:

She's the only character in FFXI that ever managed to steal a scene directly from Shantotto. You know now that Shantotto is more of a central cast member she's going to steal some scenes, she could even compete with Kefka in that regard, so someone has to put her ego in check at least once. Anyone else but Prishe she would steamroll verbally.

Plus there's the potential to hear about all the ways Prishe tried to remove herself from the unending conflict. She had a hard time killing herself before we met us in CoP and when she lost that hunk of magicite in her chest, then she wanted to live and enjoy life rather than toss herself off cliffs to try to end it.

Hey, that's probably her storyarch right there.
