No idea what Henshin Hero is, but the Nature skills have transformations. Granted, it's more along the lines of Beast Boy, or whatever his name was, so not sure if it's what you're looking for.

In current news, I feeling horribly underwhelmed and overwhelmed while playing this game. Specific trees don't have very many skills (and they're all bit... "ok"), but I really have no idea what to do otherwise. Did my first dungeon, though... AMAZING.

think Power Ranger, a henshin Hero is a hero that gains their power from mystic/nature/technoligy,

its in form of a device or item, and they normal shout out a word or phrase to change into their hero form.

The closest I can think of right now that could fit that bill, would be Green Lantern

Perfect example of what I am talking about

          And a fight

Sadly I don't think there are Henshins in this game. But they mentioned repeatedly that secret identities would play a role so I'm hopeful they could be added later on.

Even the Japanese superheroes in the DCU don't do the Henshin thing.

There's no "secret identity" for a character in this game just yet, you're just always a superhero.

Alerts are very nice but as I discovered last night you need to do quite a lot more than you usually do in boss fights in other MMOGs I've played.

              And so far the one thing I don't like much is that you can't move UI elements around. PS3 limitations maybe? <_<;

PS > Level doesn't matter as much in this game as it does in others,(skill/tactics > level/gear by far.) And I have not once paid attention to whether I'm about to level up or not while playing, which is a very good sign. I just go around having fun, doing quests and helping people and I find myself leveling up and getting new powers before I notice.

Just the way I like it.

But lets see how I see things in 6 months from now.

Forgot to mention, there's one very important thing about this game:

                    It actually feels heroic.

                    As odd as it sounds.

I'm doing Area 51 and just got lumped with another 3 complete strangers (4 people Alert instance) and half way through it we are already teaming up and helping each other an fighting dozens of brainiac forces all hero like.

The last battle was pretty rough for a newbie like me, but we pulled through after being knocked down a few times. I just wish they gave you a little more time to help fallen comrades before sending them back to the spawn point, but I guess that adds to the frantic fighting style.

Note to self: I need to find out if there's any sort of Voke ability I can unlock with Ice based powers.

@Ufgt - These people have missed a lot of content. While they may be max level, my level 10 Sorc probably has the same amount of skill points they have. Why? Because I've done other content that unlocks more skill points for you (IE: Getting platinum in the races.) Level is really just a way for them to gate content... Otherwise, like Raydeus mentioned, I don't even notice what level I am until I'm at the character select screen.

@Raydeus - When you hit level 10 you unlock the other stance. In Tank (or Defense or whatever it's called), all your skills provoke the enemy. So it's not really about a provoke ability, but knowing when to use your skills to provoke and keep chaining to get energy back. On another note, are you cryogenics or storms? I went storms, but I do want to tank... But Cryogenics seems so boring. xD

Also, if anyone cares, I rerolled to Villain side on New Frontier. I enjoy it more and there's way too many heroes on PvE servers.

Edit: Just unlocked... Um... What's her name... The purple girl with the bow... For PvP and she ownsssss.

At least, she's the only purple wearing person with a bow that I know of (and she prefers Crossbows), though she also sports a Bo staff these days. i guess the system would limit characters to one, though.

Yep, I use defender for tanking but still would like to find the Voke-like ability for use when I really need to get the bad guy's attention, but still have no idea of how emnity works in this game.

I'm in New Frontier too, I think, maybe. For some reason I just don't seem to be able to pay attention to the actual name of the server. XD

And using Cryo and Iconic powers like a madman, except for Storm pull which is awesome. But will definitely re-spec because some powers (like Shazam!!) are a waste of points even if they sound cool on paper.

PS > I think I'll try making a PvP character eventually (as in once I learn how to play). It just feels too weird going to an area in conflict and have villains and heroes pretending they don't see each other while just wacking on the other side's npcs.

Heck the most conflict I've had outside arena was competing with a villain to recover Luthor's intel cases outside of the hospital in Metropolis, and that lasted like 3 minutes because I cleared it too fast. (Super-speed FTW)

When you play as her, you can switch between weapons with a skill. It's actually pretty neat. First skill is "knuckles" or whatever, then the second skill is with dual crossbows. :D I usually turn on the crossbows 'cause it destroys horribly fast. LOL

Well her specializations is martial arts and I'd expect that to be reflected in the game, otherwise she's considered to be one of the best marksmen in the DCU, just a few paces behind Green Arrow. Character wise if Superman is Good Cop and Batman is Bad Cop, The Huntress is Really Bad Cop. She's not much for following Batman's rules and always has something to prove.

She is a high school teacher by day, vigilante by night, driven to fight crime to protect students and also because she grew up in a mob family, later distancing herself from that life.

This is the New Earth take on her, both pre-and post Infinite Crisis. On Earth 2, she's the daughter of Batman and Catwoman, but after the first Crisis, she slipped to New Earth and her history was altered as part of the dissolution of the multiverse. When the mulitiverse was revived and Earth Two created, her Earth 2 original was recreated.

So you could say she's an orphan of Earth 2, she just doesn't really know it. I don't know what Earth DCUO represents, but it seems to reflect New Earth before Final Crisis, at least given that Dick Grayson is still Nightwing and Tim Drake is still Robin

Is it feeling pretty casual so far? I know I go back and forth on it, but if this game takes a more casual approach I could go for that. I don't want it to be some game that ends up like FFXI or WoW where the hardcores spoil every corner of the game and it trickles down from endgame to level 1.

That might be too pre-mature to ask, I guess. Given what I know about the DCU, you're still with the bush leagues if the endgame is just Star Labs and Arkham Asylum. The real shit comes down with the New Gods of Jack Kirby's Fourth World get involved.

I REALLY love the DC Universe, but I want something that feels like I can take or leave like a Diablo or Monster Hunter game. The grind is never the issue for me, its more about how the social structure ends up panning out.
