ZAM: So the economy will be mainly item-based. There's no crafting planned, correct?

Andersen: We don't have any crafting in there right now and I'm really not going to comment on where we're going with that in the future. Our fundamental decision was that superheroes don't sew. We really wanted to make sure the combat and content was as solid as it could be. Crafting is important to some people. I don't know if it's important to the action gamer, and we slant toward action. It didn't initially have a place on the long list of things we wanted to do with the game. Crafting was more on the list of “you must have it because it's an MMO feature.” We didn't want that to govern our decisions. There's a list of things on the action and superhero fronts I would want to put in the game before I put a crafting system in it. I get that you can be a reporter and photographer in DC Comics. It's very Clark Kent and Jimmy Olsen. I understand it. We had initially talked about secret identities, which was going to be our hook into that, but we've needed to put it on hold for now in lieu of other things we're trying to do with the game. We want to get back to that because we do have ideas for it. I'm not saying we won't do a traditional crafting system, but I guarantee you, knowing this team and the creativity that's on it, that we're going to look at what would be perfect for DC Universe Online, not what has worked in MMOs in the past. We're not ignoring that, we're just not letting it rule us.

wasn't able to get on earlier today. I checked today and when I started playing, a screen came up saying disconnected, log into a psn to play with Brainiac ships poster,
but I was still online on PSN, so servers are down for now I think. The text is so painfully small. -.-; I don't think I can chat comfortably with that thing. or even buy anything without knowing what it is.

The only thing that is getting me by so far is noticing that highlighting gear, the green words means it gives me higher stats, and red means it gives me less stats than what I have equipped is giving me.

I tried Nature for a bit, then went on to Ice, and then played around with Mental. I tried both good and evil mentors and the dungeons are very interesting. None of them were boring, which is quite shocking really! ^_^
On good side, I finished the Giganta fight (around level 12 in Wonder Woman missions) and I'm around level 5 in Circe missions.

the Open PVP is so fun! It's not as frequent as I thought, but when it happens, exciting stuff begins! Blocking, rolling, and powers and stuff.



There was this battle on a rooftop that I knew they were winning, I dropped off the building (100s of feet) and ran, zigzaging around and over buildings with acrobatics (climbing is fun!)

And I was PANICKING because I can see their red marker following me on the radar!!! I was like "MEEEEEEEW! run run run run!!!"

"maybe this wall? nuuuuu! they'll catch up! Just keep running mew!!!!!"

And I ran for like half a city I think, I had a feeling they gave up long before that.

Ya flight and acrobatics are super fun, not sure which I would main. Acrobatics is nice because besides swimming in the water (which anyone can do and it's fun), you can run on the water too. Speedsters can do that too, but I find climbing and sliding down buildings much more fun than simply running everywhere. ^_^

Very hard choices. I'm not really one that likes going back and forth between two accounts/slots, so maybe this beta will help me focus on one. lol it's already delaying my progress to level 15, which I think is when people can start participating in some of the first raids.

And you know I am a big fans of capes but the character creation has lots of other cool stuff, aaaah! I'm not sure if I'll reach level 30 before the beta is over. xD


This is one SUPER COOL part in Metropolis where dozens of brainiac robots and metropolis robots/soldiers are fighting endlessly! It's the biggest war I ever seen in the city yet!

Oh yes and I did visit Gotham, but my missions took place in Metropolis, so I didn't want to spend too much time in Gotham looking for good spots to get good EXP. But ya I did explore it for like a half hour. This is so massively great! ^_^


Open PVP server fun fun! So fun and more unpredictable epic moments!

Ya it's great feeling seeing other heroes/villains come to the rescue. One time I was fighting a villain player, and then another hero jumped into the fight. It was 2 on 1 but I was worn out,
so I got K.O.ed and instead of fleeing, I laid there and watched the two of them fight. It was SOOOOO EPIC MEW!!!!! And you know what? it ended in a TIE! They both knocked each other out after lots of explosions and flashy stuff! lol!
So cool, mew!

well I finally reached level 20! I'm almost done completing The Riddler missions! So many great missions! I fought Sinestro corps earlier. fun fun.I completed Gorilla Island Alert, but have to do Area 51 again, it froze the last two times.
Ya the queue for PVP server is super fast! like 2 seconds lol! xD
