That gameplay looks just as bad as The Old Republic. But then again I am going to play TOR eventually.

I just wish they would stop the "You will fight alongside your favorite Heroes on every single fight!!!!!11" crap as a selling point and just made the game world interesting to live in and the gameplay fun and intuitive instead.



So far GW2 has the best looking gameplay, which is odd considering all the others have way more money behind them.

I haven't seen anywhere that promotes "alongside favorite heroes every single fight." Of course the iconics won't be present all the time in quests. >.>

Everyone that has followed the interviews and Developer responses knows that fighting alongside iconics isn't the main or only selling point.

It's a numerous amount of things, including the countless things to do in the massive cities (Metropolis and Gotham, which are the size of mmorpg continents). and eventually getting to the point where we will become like an iconic ourselves.

This game is looking pretty good. Getting better with every interview.
They are removing a lot of stuff from previous mmo's that were boring and putting in things that are fun. i.e. if I have to kill x number of enemies and collect y number of items. I don't have to run back to the case/caper giver. Most of the time you'd be hitting or saving stuff.

This seems more like a action mmorpg than a traditional one.
I'm waiting for the hard light power set. Some people are waiting for Electricity and Earth (terra) powerset. Hoping they make it in before launch.

Launch was delayed from Nov 2 to Q1 2011. Not sure when that is though.

I'm having serious problems catching up with all the changes post Zero hour.

There's just too much info to assimilate, and reading the Wiki summaries doesn't even scratch the surface of everything there is.

How many dozens of books would you need to buy to catch up?

well you could read Infinite Crisis and Final Crisis (there are voiced youtube summaries online, with pictures).
They are a great example because DCUO is also related to the multiple worlds (although this seems more time travel based than dimensional based. But that doesn't mean people will time travel, but its still like, even two time zones can be considered two worlds, even though they are the same world.)

But ya, Infinite Crisis and Final Crisis are amazing stories and some of the most climactic DC stories.

DCUO is its own story, and centered on the story's future, but ya, you really don't need to read anything else to understand it, but it helps. Anyways it's said all the iconics will be introduced to the player one way or another, so DCUO will also educate newcomers about the characters and stuff as you progress. So that will help too.
