This truly convinced me to buy an Xbox360 again. We never had a 2-D Castlevania console since SOTN and Chronicles!
Plus the co-op and portable CV game legends like Shanoa, Soma, Jonathan, and Charlotte really makes this much much more fun and a grand dream reunion that should not be missed!

This is the stuff that normally only exists in fanfics but thanks to IGA and Konami, they bring something fun and new way to enjoy Castlevania!!!!

Plus there is much potential in this! They could release DLC for it! maybe more characters, more items, and more stages!

mew! you must understand true art and innovation! This allows players to share a Castlevania together! It's the gameplay and features that counts. That's what makes things fun! It's a nice breather from the regular CV games. There are many fun things only co-op and other things only HoD can provide.

There is even a single player feature where you can save replays and other players can play your replays and try to beat your time trials (your character follows the exact same actions you taken when they play your replay in their own playthrough! kind of like the ghost in Mirror's Edge, but of course more advanced.)

This is better than New SMB Wii and Lost Planet 2 combined!

Lord of Shadow looks pretty awesome. Would LOVE to see a remastering of SotN on PS3/360, though that could possibly wind up murdering a classic, I don't know.

All I know is you can't go wrong with Alucard + Shanoa + Soma. (Richter or Trevor would have also been awesome. I swear Trevor has the best theme ever)

Be mindful of other people's tastes and feeeelings. HoD really provide something many have wanted for Castlevania!

Of course some CV traditional fanatics would not approve.

But perception is key. Be mindful of the positive things from this, not just the negative things just because it isn't your cup of tea.

Konami keeps throwing him at these dumb experimental projects. The guy is only good at making 2D single player games. That's not a crime.

The problem is Konami doesn't do shit to market his Castlevanias when they're made and so even with all the critical acclaim they might get, they don't sell because no one knows they've been released. Sega is the exact same way. What does Konami do? Just blow their load on advertising the Metal Gear games?

Well nerfing their overpowered nature in SOTN, OOE and DoS helps this game a whole lot. They will still be fun and unique
in their own style. Alucard didn't have as many abilities in Castlevania III, but the challenge factor did make his gameplay
more interesting than his unrestrained power in SOTN (which really caused SOTN to be one of the easiest and most boring Castlevanias.). Same case with Shanoa and Soma.

It's a good design to make each one capable to be good hunters without stealing the show.


That's WHY they removed leveling up altogether in this. It keeps a level playing field much better since all equipment
have a cap, and it takes more time and more effort/luck obtaining better equipment than it is leveling up in a metroidvania.
And also factor in how much damage a team can do compared to one, and there are more reasons why it's necessary to rebalance the characters instead of applying their entire mass destruction arsenal in this.


It's really a brilliant design! And one can only imagine what they have planned for DLC to expand things further!
