Sure there is! It’s natural progression, you had standard, then HD, then Motion Controll came out, Now 3d is hitting the market. It dosen’t matter if a company is copying another because that company came out with something that the public desired (IE. Motion control and HD) what matters is that the company recognizes it and adapts.

your right, but I want 3d also, and I can afford to pay the expense for it, so don’t shit a brick when a guy is upset that a company he likes still hasn’t adapted to the current market (Nintendo’s lack of HD support).

See, the thing is that none of this complaints are that big of a deal, but they are not as inane and petulant as the crying about how Nintendo didn't go HD.

Yes there is a need for HD from Nintendo when their customer base wants it. I would buy a HD Wii, I don’t play my Wii as is because I don’t like looking at non HD content anymore, atleast not when I have a choice in the matter. Which is what people want from Nintendo, the choice.

Really, get over HD. Its standard now, but its still not that impressive.Your eyes might bleed when you go back to standard definition, but I just don't give a shit either way. I go see a 3D movie, come home and use my old standard-definition TV and stream movies on my Wii or play game.

That’s fine for you to not give a shit, good job, unfortunately I do. I like watching things in HD and I sure as hell can tell a difference. Streaming Netflix’s on the Wii is so horrendous, even my wife couldn’t watch it.

I'm also not big into the "must buy two $60 games every fucking week" mentality. You want to waste your money? Fine by me, but I have no need to keep up with other gamers just to have something to talk about. Its a given that I will talk about games eventually, but I've been very happy being about four years behind everyone else.

Me neither, I just bought metal gear solid 4 for 20 bucks used. But where did this even come into the thread? I understand this is your opinion but it’s sort of like:

Malacite, stop being a dumbass. There's no reason to announce a Wii HD; it would be pathetic if they did. Nintendo should just release a new console when they're damn good and ready, not some bullshit "Oh, it's a Wii but with slightly better graphics" money ploy. They'd just undercut themselves. About the farthest Nintendo would want to do in terms of Wii upgrades would be to give them an internal hard drive. Other than that, the Wii needs software improvements, not hardware.

I agree with them undercutting themselves, but it’s been almost 4 years now, HD is the next logical step and E3 would have been a great agenda to announce a next gen console from Nintendo, hell you’d see Sony and Microsoft shit their collective britches if something like that were to occur.

The PS360 needs improvements too, but I don't see anyone clamoring for them to release a new console.

I actually am clamoring a bit, PS3 got 3d from firmware updates, but It wasn’t designed from the start to handle that sort of content, and the 360 is probably never going to get that sort of content. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the next gen consoles announced by the 1st quarter of 2011. Yeah, 5-6 year turn around.

I didn't really even know Wiimotes had some memory storage til I saw I could copy a save of my Monster Hunter character to it. That's actually a rather clever solution. I actually hope that gets into the Move controller.

Additionally, "Haters gonna hate" is something usually said to disregard a personal attack, playing it off like some comment hasn't affected you. I didn't make a personal attack, but something I said clearly resonated with you or you wouldn't have responded, so clearly what I say affects you.

E3 10: New Xbox, same old disc destroying problems- Destructoid. So MS has not only learned nothing these last few years, they now want you to jump around and force the issue. Poor Alan Wake disc, you do not deserve that fate.

Because we're talking about "what the Wii is about", not what audience Nintendo is serving.

The Wii is all about "casuals" and Nintendo is focusing on them this generation. They've openly said so many times.

If you want to talk about which audience is using the Wii more, talk about that. If you want to talk about which audience other publishers are dealing with, talk about that. But don't talk about what Nintendo is releasing, and then backtrack on that.

The "casual" audience is using the Wii more. Other publishers are focusing on "casuals" more. And Nintendo has made a console that is aimed at being accepted by the largest amount of people possible, aka "casuals". It's why they don't care about HD, HDDs, 3Dtv and all that right now, because they can make their console more cost effective without them and get it into more homes. Just because they're releasing a few games for long time fans doesn't change this stance. Why you take such great offense to me pointing this out I do not know, as it's not meant to be an insult. Nintendo was smart to release a cheaper, simpler console for more people to enjoy and not fight head to head, nose to nose with Sony and MS. Most people don't see the Wii as an alternative to a PS3 or Xbox (it's not), they see it as an addition, something they can pick up for a low price to play along side those two more expensive, more powerful consoles. Which has seemed like Nintendo's plan all along.

I know he would make it a little Deus Ex-ish, but I like how he employed it here. I was worried the paintbrush thing would be too Okami-ish, but its totally not and thank goodness.

I'm slightly saddened it's not as grimdarkcreepy as the original promo-art initially insinuated it would be. Mechano-scorpion Country Bears, Wooden zombie Goofy and those 7 Dwarves capture crafts were freaky as hell.

Judging from Nintendo's sales, no, that is not at all what people want. The fact that there are people that do want it doesn't mean they're anywhere close to being a majority. And that's before we starting debating whether or not the industry has started to value pretty graphics over delivering a quality product.

And again, this has been Nintendo's approach since forever. The competition has always had better graphics, Nintendo has always had lower prices.

And on the topic of Wii hard drives or backing up games, those that are seething with rage over it can just hack their Wii. It takes all of 5 minutes to do.

Well, the delay of Zelda was quelled by Epic Mickey, Donkey Kong and Goldeneye. They didn't really show much about Zelda from when I tuned in, I just saw more dynamic uses for weapons, which I was kinda hoping for anyway. The bow works kinda like Archery in Wii Sports Resort. You can roll or toss bombs, flick the controller to use a whip. Cool stuff, but I was hoping to see more of the world.

And yeah, totally getting the 3DS. They didn't say when it will be out though. I like that its got a free wireless internet element. Nintendo's putting that print money to good use. Wonder who they made that deal with and what their coverage area is.[COLOR="Silver"]
