Oh heck no! I loved that game! The dog could turn into a big bear/wolf thing if I remember right....it has been over a decade since I played it! lol

No, that was just the big wolfish form he had in the prehistoric world. He had a different form in each of the four worlds.

Well there is Chrono Trigger and that is a SNES game...but you can play it free via emulation on your PC. And then there is Chrono Cross, a Playstation title, which was supposed to be a sequel to the first game. Personally I don't look at it like that. There is very little tie in to the first game. Too many people thought it would be a lot like the first since it was a sequel and it wasn't like it at all. So then it was "OMG that game sucks!" but it really doesn't if you don't compare it to the first. Trigger is a classic and a one of the best old school RPG's so its a little hard to compare it to it. Its like comparing a Kia to a Ferrari because they are both cars. Chrono Cross alone is a good game.

Way to completely omit Radical Dreamers.

It never made it over here and its doesn't appeal to everyone so I don't bother suggesting it to most people. Besides that it's not really a game, more of a....interactive storyish thing...

Let's be honest: it's an abomination. I'm just giving you a hard time. I found a ROM and translation for it once, but the interface...oh god it was worse than those early adventure games that all came on a stack of floppy disks. Then they tried to stick combat in it too and the whole thing just went to hell in a hand-basket.

                  1. Kingdom Hearts
                  2. Dragon Quest
                  3. Chrono series

I've played a lot of the Final Fantasy series. But really only liked IX and XI. And 2 games does not a favorite franchise make.

EDIT: Wasn't paying attention, didn't know I could vote for more than 1.

I kinda feel that FF, while it's consistently been a solid series to invest in, has always been the most formulaic and least innovative of Square's series.

I marked down KH and Chrono.

FF, purely because of 11 and 12. It's some of the best world building I've seen in any game, and probably the best from an RPG. Additionally, the other FF games (apart from the first two or four) may not always be the greatest, but they tend to have interesting battle systems at the very least. Like with FF8; I thought the battle system was just plain broken, the plot was weak and uninteresting, I didn't even like most of the music, but I still am glad I played it because the direction they tried to go in was interesting.

Plus, you've got to give FF7 credit for being one of the major reasons we even have RPGs in North America.
