  • Help! (re: Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands)

So the release of the new PoP game is today, but it is being overshadowed by Red Dead and Alan Wake. Has anyone found any reviews for The Forgotten Sands? I didn't see any last night, but maybe something popped up today.

If you find a review, please copy and paste it here because I am in websense hell. Thanks!

IGN gave the Wii version an 8, saying its a good addition to the series and that the abilities exclusive to the Wii version add a great deal to the experience.

Ohhh... so the WII version is actually BETTER than the other 2 versions? I find that hard to believe. Any other reviews floating around anywhere?

They didn't say better so much as that these abilities leave some of the platforming and puzzle solving a little more open-ended and flexible than the 360 and PS3 versions, which just stick to the traditional style of play entire.

You can summon sand spires, hooks and spheres for various platforming and combat situations that's not available in the other versions. They also added a co-op option similar to what's in Mario Galaxy. The first player controls the Prince and the second player can do all the spire, hook and sphere creation with a second Wiimote.

Otherwise, the versions are fairly identical.

As for other reviews, I say check Gamerankings and Metacritic.

I'd say the Wii version is more appealing for the more flexible approach to platforming and puzzle-solving.

EDIT: PS3 and 360 versions seem to be sporting similar scores to the Wii version, but I read the Wii version has some other unlockable goodies to play with. Its certainly nice to see that UbiSoft put extra effort in the Wii version rather than hash out a subpar port.
