Two interesting things happened to Nintendo over the last few days. First, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata, never afraid of bold statements, reportedly told his executives to consider the battle with Sony and Microsoft already won and has targeted Apple as the "enemy of the future."
I for one, can not wait for that comment to come back and bite them in the ass. Natal & Move say hi btw, Nintendo.

Natal and Move are like the guys that show up uninvited at a party. They think they're the shit.

      That's about it.

Bob said MS isn't very good at being innovative.

oh please.... Move? that stupid thing relies on the camera way to much, and the one demo game I saw with it, had the player use two of the damn things.... yeah thats not going to be cheap.

and Natal? again.... please -. people already complain they have to move around with the Wii, how do you think they will bitch with the full body thing?

I don't play 360 or PS3 for motion control..... I play them for their looks and exclusive titles, when I want motion control, I will look over at the Wii.

I doubt it will. People see DS as a gaming system, they see iPhone games are raw novelty. There are no serious games on Apple products. Oh, but enjoy the handful of Steam games you just got. Only took em like three decades to get into the PC gaming market.

Also, Move is a joke. Its different tech, sure, but it so far the games are nothing different from what Wii offers. You want to get into this market four years after the fact? As Feba said they're late to the party and now thing they're the shit.

I know Sony was ripping on motion control when it was revealed, but now they realize it sells. Good luck with that.

At least what MS is doing seems to be more original. Sorry, Sony but I'm not buying a PS3 for Wii Sports HD. If you're going to sell me Move, damn well better be some damn good pack-ins involved because that I want for the PS3 does not entail motion control in the slightest and never will.

I was referring specifically to the Wii - the DS is on some heavenly, unreachable pedestal that Sony can only dream of (much as I love the PSP there's no denying reality)

Wii on the other hand, is in for a good shit-kicking once people take notice that Sony & Nintendo will offer the same if not better games and in HD to boot. The Wii has such a massive install base though so it'll take a while <.<

And the new Socom uses Move btw. If only God of War 3 and Heavy Rain had been delayed just long enough to take advantage of Move. Oh well, I'm betting Uncharted 3 will o-O

Not just install base, but a lower price point as well. You think Move threatens Nintendo in any way? They can totally slash the price at this point and laugh their asses off at Sony some more.

Face it, its not happening. This is like the PS2 HDD all over again.

You do realize that lots of Wii owners don't have HD sets, right?

I'm confused as to why Nintendo would want to "battle" Apple..?

(As a personal note, I've always loved Nintendo's consoles over Sony's. However... I haven't used my Wii in a good two years now, but I still use my PS3 regularly. And I don't have HD.)

Did you even see the tech demos from E3? I don't think so.

I've actually seen plenty of Move and what they've shown is nothing special

                        Ping Pong
                        Archery
                        Boxing

Should I thank them for playing Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort?

So far, its all Wii Sports stuff and the the kinda Eyetoy shit we hated when it was on PS2. All the tech is is a camera tracking mo-cap balls.

And as we've already had to point out about the Wii, getting a PS3 isn't just getting a PS3, its getting an HDTV, HDMi Cables, Move Controllers and a PS3. That HDTV thing kinda doubles the expense at minimum.

See, not all of us cream our pants every time we see something in high resolution. A lot of us just see it as the same old shit in a higher resolution. I do plan to get an HDTV soon, but I'm not expecting my mind to be blown here, I've seen them all over and the quality does vary. Even at its best, though, I can get by with what I have.

Getting a PS3 isn't going to inspire me to start stocking up on Blu-Ray discs, either. The damn thing has Netflix. Everything does.

its not about the HD anymore.... since 1080p is still the max you can get in a TV... now its all about the refresh rate ;p

120hz is starting to become the standered and 240hz is the new "OMG I WANT THAT" thing.

thing is, I watched a little Iron Man on a 120hz TV off a BlueRay...and the camera was odd, not sure if that's something to complain about with newer TVs or something to just get used to.

I myself would like to get a 120hz for my gaming and my PC shenanigans, but I don't see the need for a 240hz, unless I want "OMG 3D" and I dont so *shrugs*

That's probably because you spend too much time watching TV.

TV signals are 60Hz, but film has historically been 24Hz. And since 24 / 60 doesn't equal a whole number, you get this icky thing called judder, where the camera will appear somewhat spastic when panning across a scene because each frame is shownr either twice or three times.

                              With the 120+Hz TVs that are out there now, though, they can accurately display 24Hz (120 / 24 = 5, 240 / 24 = 10, 600 / 24 = 25).

What you're probably subconsciously noticing is that on a 120+Hz display, the judder effect is gone, making the image quality smoother and more natural. If almost everything you're used to watching has judder though, having the video image look like it's supposed to will feel weird.

By the by, I just this past week bought myself a new 600Hz 3D HDTV. Will be interesting to see if any of the new PS3 Move games will also handle 3D - I can see THAT being a very cool combination.
