    'Mega Man Online' confirmed for PC

    The acronym "MMO" has new meaning for Capcom, which has revealed that it is working on Mega Man Online for PC, this according to a report by GameSpot. The game is being co-developed by Korea's Neowiz Games, maker of EA Sports FIFA Online. There's a chance that MMO (see!) could be related to Capcom's recent Mega Man Universe trademark filing, but if it is, the company isn't saying. When contacted, a rep told Joystiq, "We have no comment at this time as Capcom does not respond to rumors and/or speculation."

    Whatever MMO turns out to be, we can only hope it doesn't take after Ghouls 'N Ghosts Online,Capcom's last (and unreleased) attempt at turning one of its classic IPs into a massively multiplayer experience. It was scary ... bad.

        Of course, the obvious question is, which Mega Man. .EXE seems like the obvious answer at first (customize your Navis and crap! No, not your Na'vis, Avatar fan-boys and girls, wait for the inevitable trilogy to be finished first), given, well, internets and stuff. Legends is the second thing that comes to mind, though, particularly when I'm thinking of possible gameplay. I wonder how difficult Capcom would make this game, too (how it would compare to not only other Mega Man games, but other MMOs, particularly FFXI, natch).

        Well, if darn near everything's being made in to an MMO these days, I guess all I have to do is sit back and wait for the Pokémon and Tales MMOs (only to see the latter denied localization for at least twice as long as FFXI was, again natch). Those I would look at more seriously. Oh, and Antilia, of course, but it's been months since I last participated in the community over there (been busy with other stuff . . . like FFXI ;>.> ).

                      That is not completely true, there are some that are decent, and this is will supervised by Capcom.

                      but really a Mega Man online game? (I doubt it will be a real MMO) I am sure it would be more on the lines of Phantasy Star Universe, or the like.

                        When I pick up a Megaman game it's because I want rock solid platforming action, not because I want to grind and do all the faffing about that comes with an RPG. I see no way for this concept to not suck ass.
