    Re: LBP 2 Trailer!

I've owned the original since release and I have yet to take the time to make an actual level.

Always end up playing someone else's, and since none of my friends own a PS3 or even like LBP, looks like a miss. :<

I don't understand the appeal of LBP. I had it for a while, but I just didn't find it overly fun, so I gave it away to a friend.

I like how Media Molocule said the felt they didn't need to make a sequel to LBP.

I guess the need arises when money is offered.

Really didn't need a sequel, though, neither does Rock Band this gen. These games can continue to be expanded, so just make expansions. There isn't really a thing about these games that screams for a sequel

At least LBP is still original. I'd reserve judgment for now, as the original was a mind-blowing experience, if somewhat limited. Yeah it's more of the same, but they're adding more game-types that you can create. I'm thinking this is gonna blow the original right out of the water.

Any word on the beta start? I have the key, but sony won't allow me to put it in yet, and there's nothing in the e-mail about it.

              Re: LBP 2 Trailer!

I got turned off to LBP after I found out about the time-sensitive DLC. I know it's nitpicky and this is definitely my OCD showing but if I feel I can't get everything in a game it turns me off to playing all the way through it. Not saying I would want to buy all the DLC they release, 'cause that would get quite expensive, but I at least want to own all the free stuff.

Keep in mind I do actually own the game and have played through a large portion of it with my roommates. It's just that I don't feel like finishing it because I'll never really be able to 'finish' it.

...there are over 2 million user-uploaded levels for LittleBigPlanet. Of course you'll never "finish" it. That's sort of the point...

You'll never be able to finish an MMO. >_>

Well seeing as all the content from the first game will be able to carry over (and be improved) by the second game, this basically is more or less nothing more then a giant expansion to the game. But chances are it was just easier to rebuild the game from the ground up now that they're officially owned and funded by Sony instead of just trying to shoehorn new dlc features into the old game.

....err, you can 'finish' the game just fine without that Ground Hog's Day hat or that Valentine's Day heart costume, as the only timed DLC is exactly that, holiday based costumes that come around every year. It's no different then the event stuff from FFXI. Any actual content based DLC, and even paid for costumes, stick around in PSN to be picked up whenever.

As for the game itself, I loved the original LBP. It was one of the reasons I got a PS3 in the first place and I more then got my money's worth out of it (which I can rarely say about most games these days) despite not even coming close to making full use of the game's potential. LBP2 is a no brainer buy for me as it'll be a vast improvement over the original and bring a lot of new gameplay types to enjoy. And with the creativity from some of the people who worked with LBP supporting it, the replayability behind LBP2 will be phenomenal.

This might even prompt me to actually start trying to finish that level idea I was working on for oh so long.

Well yes, but I mean the content that the developers created... the point is, I would at least like to feel like I can own all of the available tools and costumes they've provided. If I can't, then I feel like I'm missing out, and that's what's keeping me from finishing the main game.

Ziero mentioned all the holiday costumes are on a repeating cycle, but there are still a few that they have never released more than once. Who knows, maybe they'll release them all again this year, which would probably get me back into the game again.

Back on topic, LBP 2's new level creation system, where you can modify how the player controls the game, looks absolutely brilliant. I wonder if you'll be able to throw the camera all the way to the side so that you're viewing levels in 3D (third person).
