  • Port Forwarding = better online play?

PortForward.com - Port Forwarding Guides Listed by Manufacturer and Model

ya was wondering if I should try this. Well I have not problems with playing online and have had smooth connection experiences overall. But if opening all the ports can make things more frequently better gaming online, then it might be a good idea.

never EVER do this...... you dont open ports unless you need to.

and btw...the site is setup in a very... "hey click here to get hacked" manner.

I use that site all the time. Corny as this sounds before i forwarded the ports i could never get a game under 100ms ping. now i get 65's and even 50's. took awhile though for me to figure out all xbox live games forward the same port so when i was doing it for each individual game it wasn't working so hot.

Ya, I hate it when security devices work too. Why don't you just connect directly to the internet, you'll get even marginally faster connections.

Port forwarding is pretty much *NOT REQUIRED* at all. If you think you need it, you should be using UPnP instead.
I use a Mac because I'm just better than you are.
