  • Good PC RPG?

Can anyone recommend me a good PC RPG that doesn't need to go online please?

It appears that I will be going away for a while with nothing but my PC, and my books. Since I get bored of reading after about 3 hours, I like to play on my computer or something but there will be no internet where I will be going to, and all my games are online. My computer is not that great of a system being three years old, but if anyone could recommend me a decent RPG for my computer, I would appreciate that. Thanks!

Emulators and play SNES era RPGs.

Or KotoR. Or Planescape. Or... Fallout Series. Or Icewind Dale. Or NWN.

I guess it depends on what type of RPG you want to play.

Never heard of Icewind Dale though... I'll check it out.

        Deployment?

As an addition to the list Ufgt provided I would suggest Oblivion. I enjoyed playing it and you can really make it last a long time if you take your time with it.

Soichiro, Oblivion was awesome. XD I beat the game once, playing again with summoning magic, and bow, and evil killing all NPCS. Too bad they don't respawn. lol

How is Morrowwind, and Diablo 2? I never played the two, but thought about getting Diablo 2...

              Re: Good PC RPG?

Diablo 2 is hack and slash at it's finest! Addictive sucker of a game but no real intense story. You can play co-op too.

Morrowind is very open ended. If you've played Elder Scrolls, it's very much like that but it's an older game so the graphics aren't top notch. Since it's open ended it can be hard to follow at times; like where to go next or what to do.

OMG how could I forget about Diablo 2?? GREAT game IMO although I usually only played online with some friends. The offline mode still can proivde hours of enjoyment and you don't need anything fancy to run it.

Planescape isn't online >.< It runs on the Infinity engine, same as Baldur's Gate and Icewind dale. Now go get it because it's honestly a game you should take the time to play at least once. If you want I think I still have the .iso files floating around on my harddrive.

Oh, I was thinking of a different planescape game then... There is an online one thats been in beta for YEARS now. I don't even think its called Beta, its been a work in progress since 2003... And playable since 2004, and has yet to be finished. lol

I'm not that great with computers so I don't really know what a .iso is... ;>.> lol

I just got Diablo II and Elven Legacy, they should both keep me occupied for a while now. Gonna look up videos of Elven legacy to see if its a good game before opening the package so I can return if I don't like it. lol

Ah, then I may get it some time then. I liked Oblivion lol

I think I might have to kill him if that were the case.

I know I have to run Steam to play it, but I don't know if that means I have to be online after booting it up.

                          I suggest Torchlight.

Most likely cheaper than Diabolo, by the people that made the Diabolo games. And better.

lol no. I was thinking Planshift. PlaneShift - A 3D Fantasy MMORPG

I couldn't remember the name lol. Runescape sucks, even after its "graphics upgrade" XD

If you can get a PSX emu running, could try plenty of games through that. FF7, 8, 9, Chrono Cross, etc.

If you like SRPGs, I've heard Battle of Wesnoth is good, though I couldn't get into it. Free, so you may as well give it a shot.

Not-really-an-RPG-shot-in-the-dark-suggestion: Katawa Shoujo. Right now, only the demo is out; it covers about 1/5th of the game, but is still a good chunk of hours. Demo is almost entirely worksafe, full game won't be.
