Overlord : Raising Hell is sort of tongue-in-cheek bad guy. You aren't ever really forced to do anything all that bad in the first game, and it took itself very un-seriously.

Overlord II, on the other hand, you really DO have to become the evil overlord (and the game goes out of its way to actively reward you for being evil).

I'm not sure which I like more, but they're both pretty cool and fun.

I haven't played the second one yet (only got it cause it was free), but in the first one it was more of a karma system as opposed to making you flat out evil. Either way you're still an evil overlord, but you were given the choice over how evil you wanted to be, right down to picking which type of queen you wanted. But that tongue-in-cheek unseriousness was also what made it a fun game imo, it had this kind of dark fairytale thing going for it with how the major bosses were classic story heros gone bad.

Though the only thing that ever bugged me about those games is how despite how evil and powerful you were supposed to be, your army consisted entirely of tiny, silly gremlins. I always thought it would be so much cooler if you could sacrifice some of your minions currently in your army to summon bigger monsters to boss around. It would have given you a bit more of that evil king feel if you could mix some giant monsters in with those little imps you controlled.

Ya I have Flower but sometimes I want to be evil. lol After some of the shit I see/hear about on some days, it's good to come home and send gremlins to their deaths.

Infamous is another good game to be evil in. On my first playthrough I did it all good guy like, made all the right choices and did all the quests in the city to boost my fame and junk like that...even the crappy annoying quests that are really terrible. But on my evil playthrough I ignored a lot of the people asking for help so certain parts of the city would still be under gang member control, leaving me plenty of baddies to fry just for fun. I also make sure to beat the ever living crap out of the rude ass quest givers who demand you do what they say.

While it's fun on the goog guy play through to have everyone cheer for you and people come up and take your picture and all that, sometimes it can get real annoying. Which makes the evil playthrough soooooooo much better.

I played inFamous all the way through on both karma paths - on the whole I like the good side better. Good Cole has a slightly more flexible set of powers than Evil Cole (at the cost of a little bit of offensive power), and I hate what the city ends up like after you finish the game as Evil Cole. It's just... depressing. Good Cole's ending city is bright, clean, and happy, and makes me feel good to visit it.

With good Cole, it's all about the precision and minimizing casualties. But bad Cole is all about the raw power and collateral damage. In the good play through the Thunderdrop was the last thing I upgraded, but on evil it was one of the first. And let me tell ya, you don't know what fun is in that game until you literally jump off a massive building and taking out 20+ people, both thugs and civies, all in one big earth shattering crash. Also, the effects you get to your attacks after the Ray Sphere choice are awesome looking.

As for the changes to the city, that's one of my favorite parts of the game. I love how things change around you depending on how you act, as well as how your character himself changes.

I just got a gamefly account and am trying to catch up on PS3 games myself, doing the Dude Raider(Uncharted) series this week and they're very quality. Otherwise I also really enjoyed Dead Space, MGS4 was already mentioned but it really is fantastic. I also liked Flower a lot but many people complain it's not a 'real game', but you can find that in the PSN Store as a downloadable game.

Mirror's Edge was super enjoyable to me, but it's definitely not worth paying full price as you can probably beat it in 6~ hours, if you can find it for $10-15 I'd recommend it though.

Edit: I'm also a diehard hockey fan so I play a lot of NHL10, even as an unbiased gamer though it's possibly one of the best sports games EASports has ever made if you're into that sort of thing(not just my opinion, reviews typically supported that).

I'm playing catch-up... I never played any God of Wars. Now I am fighting a whole bunch of Kratos attempting to kill his already dedz family. Damn fun game so far and I'm looking forward to 2 & 3.

Oh I did... and bought GoW 3 w/ the collection all at once after I played the GoW3 demo and several other friends came over and kept wanting to play more. I was in college for the PS1-PS2 so I missed many of those games. All I remember playing was Tony Hawk or something.

Ah good because they smoothed out the graphics nicely in that package over the PS2 versions. I bought the collectors of GoW3 too but now I don't want to open it! lol It's the collector/hoarder in me I guess. So now I'll pick up a used copy and see if someone wants to sell me the cool box that came with it.
