      I know!!! I used to love the old Final Fight for SNES. I didn't realize until I got older that it was a stripped down version of the arcade game lol.

        yay the first Final Fight! I love that game.
        Final fight 2 and 3 were so horrible.

          waaaat? Final Fight 2 and 3 were better in my opinion. THey just weren't blessed with FF1's large sprites and arcade quality presentation.

          But anyways, Streets of Rage 2 knocks Final Fight down so flat, that it makes a paper look fat.

          Compared to Streets of Rage trilogy, Final Fight is just too short and shallow gameplay and moves wise.
          oh ya and Streets of Rage soundtracks is on its a league of it's own.

            I never played SoR because I never had a Genesis ;_; I might have to check out SoR2 since it is on XBL.

            PS Why couldn't you just say you liked SoR better than Final Fight, you make it sound as if SoR2 was the greatest Beat-Em-Up of all time.

              Final Fight will be the most important XBLA game to buy to date. Capcom is utilizing Ponder's GGPO code to handle the online play, and GGPO is the single greatest piece of network code to happen to online fighters. Show your support.

                CAPCOM I don't hear of them much anymore... It has been a long time since I played any of their games.

                  It was and is arguably the greatest beat em up of all time. But of course that's debatable.
                  Just as many would say Guardian Heroes is the best, or Turtles in Time, or Sengoku 3, or Double Dragon 2, or Streets of Rage 3,
                  or Dungeons & Dragons Shadow over Mystara, etc.

                  Final Fight is a good beat em up though.

                  It's just after playing SoR games, Final Fight's attack options are just too limiting and the fights too monotonous.
                  I find no interest playing Final Fight again after the first time.

                  And Magic Sword....I never liked that game. -.-;
                  gimme Lords of Thunder :p (though that wasn't made by Capcom.)

                  but don't worry. SoR was inspired by beat em ups like Final Fight.

                  Also Final Fight used the hardware (CPS I think) that Street Fighter II adopted and is famous for while looking good even these days.
                  Street Fighter II owes a lot to Final Fight for breaking new ground with graphics and sound.

                    Wow, I actually agree with jenova. Guardian Heros is one of the upper echelon beat em ups with a hilariously fun multiplayer deathmatch component.

                    I also think people overlook Super Double Dragon.

                          1) Guardian Heroes
                          2) D&D: Shadows
                          3) Alien vs Predator
                          4) Super Double Dragon
                          5) Streets of Rage 2

                          Honorable mention: Batman Returns (SNES), Turtles in Time (Arcade), Punisher/Nick Fury (SNES), Maximum Carnage (SNES), X-Men 6 player (Arcade)
                          Dishonorable mention: Battletoads (NES)

                              I wouldn't place Super Double Dragon over Streets of Rage 2. SDD felt kind of sluggish compared to the first Double Dragons. it's still a good game though.
