  • the videogame plot twist almost no one discovered!!!!

away with the Penelo = Ultimecia theories! :p

    [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHEbo6kXKAE"]YouTube- A New ?=U Theory[/nomedia]

Rinoa = Ultimecia! (before time was tampered with.)

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fj2WAkSLzc"]YouTube- Rinoa to Ultimecia[/ame]

    1. the player naming what's known by default as Griever, is the same name used by Ultimecia's Guardian Force!
So whatever the player name's Squall's ring, is what Ultimecia's GF is named!

    2. only 3 can have their name chosen/altered. Squall, Rinoa and Griever.

    3. the title screen symbol, that is the core of the entire story, is Griever, which connects Squall and Rinoa (both of
them being the logo of the game.)

    4. Rinoa is the only one Squall tells the name of his lion ring to.

    5. In the original timeline, there was no Edea (possessed by Ultimecia) leading the Galbadia Army. Even without her
influence, the Galbadia Army would still be enemy of Esthar, and eventually the enemy of Balamb Garden.
Most events would be similiar, but with just as many differences to the altered timeline we witnessed.

    6. Rinoa's limit break that's unlocked later on shows her with white wings. Ultimecia has black wings. No other sorceress in the story
has similiar wings (Adel's are vastly different.)

    7. So in the original timeline, somehow Rinoa becomes a sorceress, Squall is killed or chosen not to save her from
being sealed in space like Adel. (his decision may have been different because in the timeline we know, friends were with him, maybe in the original timeline, they were killed, and so there was no one to tell him what a fool he was to let Rinoa be sealed.

By the time Rinoa is freed centuries later (either by worshippers of sorceresses or an accident), some of her memory is lost.
All she remembers is humanity's hatred for sorceresses, and the name, Griever (or whatever name you chosen.) So madness and cruelty fills in the void where her love once existed, now with the desire to compress time.

Square can deny it, the producers can deny it,but the secret intention of the original author of FF8 and their clues are clearly
open to see for those who look further!

oh yes and for those who didn't know, a much simpler plot twist to discover is Laguna and Raine being Squall's parents.

but ya ,just wanted to share the ultimate plot twist very few know about or don't acknowledge it's the real truth and
biggest piece of the FF8 puzzle!

Rinoa does not have monster feet and hands, she also does not pronounce every "C" as a "K." Then again Ultamecia gave that up in Dissidia.

White wings are embroidered on the back of Rinoa's outfit, that's what her limit break refers to.

There are four sorceresses, this is revealed in each song, which is actually a sort of mathmatical and linguistic riddle. Uematsu doesn't just make music, the themes he creates are very symbolic. "Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec" is actually just gibberish in "Liberi Fatali," at least until you break it down, then it actually is telling you the the progression of the sorceresses.

Liberi Fatali: Numerologic and Mythologic Interpretation

Not only can the song be broken down mathematically, linguistically, you can rearrange "Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec" to get "Succession of Witches" and with the remaining letters, "Love." FFVIII's two big themes right there.

It also makes reference to Kabbalah and discusses the ten Sephiroths. Guess what? So does "One Winged Angel"

And while I'm at it, here's a guy's breakdown of Kefka's Theme "Dancing Mad"

Rinoa does not have monster feet and hands,
I doubt Adel was a 20 foot tall demon looking sorceress during her first year sorceressing. :p
Rinoa went through physical changes as she delved deeper into the dark powers of a sorceress.
Notice how different Edea appeared as a sorceress, wtih claw like hands, compared to her appearance when she was just working at the orphanage.

she also does not pronounce every "C" as a "K."
people can change the way they speak when you compare their teen to their adult versions.
Rinoa's trauma during her sealed sleep status must have also changed her psychologically, and can affect her speech patterns too.

White wings are embroidered on the back of Rinoa's outfit, that's what her limit break refers to.
and Ultimecia's black wings could represent the corruption that dominated Rinoa after being sealed, including turning her wings dark.

Still doesn't hold up. The song says there are four sorceresses, not three.

Rinoa's more waifish there's not a facial resemblance. Rinoa's also stupid. Very fucking stupid.

Numbers can deceive people and hide truths. Just like in Star Wars when Luke thought Anakin and Darth Vader were 2 people.

Rinoa can be the 3rd and the 4th sorceress, especially considering she takes on a new identity and name as Ultimecia,
she may very well have been seen and labeled as a completely different person in the future, when they are in fact
                the same person.

Also sometime after being sealed, naturally, Rinoa would grow up into an adult, of course she wouldn't appear or even sound close to
how she was when she was younger. Also must consider the psychological changes she must have gone through while sealed in space.

This also brings up the case that Rinoa must have broken free of the seal on her own. Adel wasn't sealed longer than a about decade.
Rinoa must have been sealed for centuries. During that time, her hatred and madness must have accumulated,
along with her powers increasing within, until it finally bursts and breaks the seal. The seal kept her body young, but her consiousness was
                awake the whole time.

Imagine being immobile in space, for hundreds of years. Even if it was just a century, that could drive anyone crazy,
and cause them to forget most things too.

After freeing herself, Rinoa returning to the planet, forgetting her name and most of her past, except the name of the lion ring she possesses, Griever. Back on the planet, she rediscovers humanity's hatred for sorceresses, and she begins to hate and kill everyone.
Eventually it's as we have seen in FF8, she ends up destroying pretty much all of the people, and rules from the throne in her castle,
having defeated the last of the SeeD as well.

Long before that she must have created the Guardian Force, Griever. Then learned of Junction Machine Ellone,
and Ultimecia's thoughts on time compression begins.

How ironic, that her very actions changed the future, saving her past self from the same result, creating a new timeline.

Re: the videogame plot twist almost no one discovered!!!!

I always preferred the "squall is dead" theory, where the majority of FFVIII is just a flash dream Squal has while he's dieing after being impaled by the giant icicle. It explains why things don't make sense, why there was never any mention of the massive wound he got from the icicle (he just wakes up and goes on with life), why the girl who ignored him suddenly falls in love with him, the guy who was dating the girl he liked suddenly becomes a full on villain and that whole final freaky FMV at the end where he can't remember what Rinoa's face looked like and that whole "hole for a face" Squall image.

Plus it would be a really twisted concept to think that you played the majority of the game inside the mind of a dieing protagonist, and that the majority of it didn't actually happen. It would be a twist that could make M Night Shamalamadingdong proud.

to me, the only theory that makes since is the "Squal's dead" one, it makes the ending FMV, make since.....and kind of weird me out.
