And then it's fun again because no one can see!

Fair enough. I think most people were just pointing out that while the jokes aren't funny anymore, "Wii" is still the silliest sounding name of the three by far.

I do hope that the PS3 Move Wand is just some silly prototype like that Batarang PS3 pad. I'm interested in the Move since I would be interested in what devs would do with it on the PS3 but I don't think I would ever be able to explain to my family and friends why I'm waving a dildo at my TV screen...

I'm starting to wonder if Sony set it up deliberately this way. It occurs to me that someone there probably sat down, looked at the "lolWii/We/Weewee/Whee!" commentary that was loosed on the interwebz a few years ago, shrugged their shoulders and decided that it might actually sell some extra units from sheer word of mouth.

In any case, I think Sony would be silly to stick with the marketing pics. Something more geometric would definitely work out better in terms of being able to sell people useless attachments at inflated prices (yes I'm looking at you Mario Kart Wii and Link's Crossbow Training).

Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing just how accurate the Move is. Sony has made some impressive claims about their prototype, and if it's really as sensitive as they say, they'll have a huge leg up on Nintendo and Microsoft in terms of attracting developers. Wii Motion Plus is nifty, but requires frequent calibration. Natal has big latency problems and an inability to sense small motor movements. I'd LOVE to see a PS3 version of Okami, for instance, that uses this device.

Public Service Announcement: There are no sexual innuendos deliberately placed in this post. If you think there are, please get out of the gutter. You perv.

Mario Kart Wii didn't cost extra.

Also, sensitivity isn't the issue nor is it the problem for developing games around motion control.

Its the lack of ideas on the part of third parties that's the problem and Sony doesn't seem to be setting a good standard to follow.

I still can't imaging game developers wanting to develop stuff for Natal much. Sounds like it's gonna suite mostly children motion games.... PS2 had those hand motion detection hing which only had like, what, 2 games?

iirc EyeToy had like six games, but they were all developed in-house at Sony, except maybe a couple DDR games that supported it but didn't require it.

I don't feel like this is plagiarism. Its a new invention... like the mouse or the gamepad. Nintendo brought it to life, but that's all they get.

One wheel came with the Wii Mario Kart game and the majority of people need more than one because the game is WAY more fun playing with someone else. So lots of people were forced into buying additional wheels. I believe thats the point that IM is making.

^ I believe Kevin Butler is currently the person most made of "win" on the planet right about now. These new Sony commercials with him are really amazing (heck, he even makes the PlayStation Move seem like a good product, and that takes some doing!).
