I just learned the PlayStation version I played is Vampire Savior: EX Edition in Japan. Although it is an EX version to the third canon game in the series, it is actually a compilation of Vampire Savior and its two Japan-only arcade updates. This version allows players to use all 18 characters in all three games

I did enjoy the cartoon, even though it was only about 13 episodes.

But ya, some speculate if Capcom makes a new Darkstalkers game, it might be 2.5D similiar to Street Fighter IV.
Of course, Darkstalkers may not be as popular as Street Fighter or even Megaman, but its characters present in even
games like Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, and being fan favorites in art and well known in other titles like Marvel vs. Capcom 2,
etc. There might be a chance Capcom might make a new official Darkstalkers sequel when they've run out of ideas
for a new Street Fighter.
My theory is that we might get a Darkstalkers 4 before a Street Fighter 5.
Well at least its more probable than a Strider 3.
