  • DA:O Awakening

So... I just stumbled across an advertisement for Dragon Age: Origins, Awakening.

Its the sequal to DA:O, and you can use your character from the last game, or make a completly new one. It also takes place in Orlais. Now... If only they would make one for where the Qunaari where from.

Heres the link if you want it: Dragon Age Origins - Awakening

Also... Its coming out at 3-16-10

Awakenings is an expansion, actually. There does seem to be another DA game slated for the end to the year, It could be an expansion, but I'm assuming that's the sequel because there's also a "handheld version" listed in EA's release plans. We'll just have to see.

It was also EA's announcement this for the coming year through 2011 that have allowed me to forgive Bioware of their silly piecemealing of their games - that's been EA's larger plan all along, it seems. They'll be applying it to future EA releases, seems Bioware's games were just a market test for their silly, needless download network.

Seems they've never heard of PSN or Xbox Live, where you can download game content without having to make another account on some other website to download content that should already be in the game..

EA's also come to realize how quickly games under their brand depreciate so they're trying to discourage gamers from buying used by not letting have a complete game unless they buy new. And to all those mom'n'pop stores that have stocked EA games new and used over the yeara? EA gives you a warm-hearted "Fuck you."

I'm not going to be all nerd rage/boycott on EA, but I will be extremely selective with my EA purchases in the future. After a year of base-jumping asian girls and platforming professors, I had hoped they were changing for the better. Apparently not.

DLC or a completely new disk?
There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,
but there are others who with the help of their art and their intelligence
transform a yellow spot into the sun.

I believe there are options for both, but there is a retail release for the content.

Completely new disc. I doubt there is enough room on the hard rive for a game with over 100 hours of game play. You can pre-order it for the PC, PS3, and Xbox.

I'm still going through DA:O on my second playthough and now I have to choose between Mass Effect 2 and the expansion when I get done with that. Damn you BioWare. Space out your releases more.

I'm still on my second play through as well. I haven't played it in such a long time, when I saw this... I was like, I gotta play it. XD Working on unlocking all the trophies for it. XD

I don't know if I will. I hate playing evil characters and I'm pretty sure at least two of the achievements involve genocide.

You can play through normally, get the achievement, then load to the earliest save, and continue as if nothing happened, but you got the trophies.

                    Re: DA:O Awakening

Dragon Age > Mass Effect 2 for me interms of replay value. I completed Mass Effect as a paragon, while the regenage options sounds fun I don't feel motivated to replay the game.....

So, just go ahead with Mass Effect 2. You'll be back to Dragon Age eventually.

Eh I just don't feel right making my characters behave like sociopaths whether I have to keep the result or not.

I've got an evil bastard rogue set up with Shale and Sten and Morrigan as backup. Pretty sure I can get at least two out of three to applaud any evil bastard decision I make. Maybe someday I'll get back around to it whenever I get tired of starting every fight by letting stuff group up on Alistair and casting Inferno on him. ..... <_< Ok, it sounds bad but he's got fire resist gear and I make it up to him in camp.

ew the gay elf. On my first run through, Morrigan and Leiliana started shouting at me about my relationship with Zevran. I was hoping there'd be some answer along the line of "but he's a guy...." but no, I have to say "I and him are over"

I felt sick when I answered that -.- makes it sounds like I as in a gay relationship. Which I wasn't.
