Lookin' pretty classic. Homing Attack is nice (I got hooked on having it and Light Speed Dash in 2D ever since I played Sonic 1 Megamix.) I hope they return his old running animations when he reaches high enough speed though.

I just saw the new Sonic Colors trailer. They're trying that 2D/3D shift Mario and Metroid have been playing with of late, from the looks of it, it might actually be working. I got goosebumps watching it.

And that would've actually been nice, especially if the Wii version hadn't been a port of the PS2 version.

Sega hasn't thrown in any stupid gimmicks so far. Let's hope they keep it that way.

Sonic 4 up now

So far, its just iPhone and WiiWare that have it, though I'm sure it will be up on PSN tomorrow and XBL on Wednesday. $9.99 for iphone version, $14.99 (1500 points) for Wii version. Iphone scoring about a 7 most places, console version averages about 8.

Consensus so far is that its OK, but they did kind screw up the pacing by revisiting some less-popular (read: bad) zone themes

Personally, I think what they're asking is too steep for an episodic game, so I'm gonna take a pass til I see what the follow-up episodes get priced at. Plus I'm getting Sonic Colors, which I expect to be the better game anyway.

In the meantime, I'll be waiting for this fan-game which apparently has better graphics. Looks like it's a Sonic 2 remake.

Interestingly, I heard that some JP dude tweeted that the fan game looks 256 times better than Sonic 4, and Yuji Naka retweeted it. Google Translate seems to suggest it's true. (Search for NickRoxNRX.)

Yuji Naka seems pretty confident about his newer games.

Ivy the Kiwi? just got a third version today - Ivy the Kiwi? Mini on DSiWare Its a lite version of the DS game, half the levels no multiplayer for 500 points. The Wii version was $30, the DS version $20 - 100 levels, both with multiplayer.

Wouldn't be surprised if a version hits iPhone soon.

Much better than most of the Sonic games I've played, too. Great little stocking stuffer for Christmas if you need to give one a friend. I had the Wii version for a bit, but its a better fit on the DS, so I'll be grabbing that up soon.

Anyway, if these are the kinds of games Naka's making after his life with Sega, color me very interested.

I don't know how the stores are in your area, but its fairly easy to find at big retail chains, but places like Gamestop don't stock much of it. Might be best to order online if you can't find it in retail. Its still new, though, so someone should have it.
