I still love a lot of PS2 games. But I got spoiled with the newer console's resolution. >_<; So I ended up playing PS2 games on emulator these days. You can crank up very high resolution output really high and its simply amazing.

Is the emulator run on your ps3 to get these graphics? Does Jei need to start a new thread with more info on his emulator???

Wow super nice Jei! My son is more into emulation than I am. I still love it for the much older games but with those you don't have to worry about resolution that much. lol

As for PS2 fighters there's Guilty Gear XX ^Core (pronounced Accent Core) and the Street Fighter Anniversary Collection (Hyper Street Fighter II Anniversary Edition + Street Fighter III 3rd Strike).

EDIT: Just watched the Sakura Wars trailer. The VA must have been paid a fortune to say all that with a straight face.

Ya I was thinking the SF Anniversary Collection too. I hate to take chances with shit like TMNT fighting games since there is so much crap out there. His father would play Mortal Kombat with him around when he was little until we ripped him a new one because it was having a very bad effect on the poor kid....i.e. horrible nightmares.

Ya that Sakura Wars trailer is muffed up! LOLOLOLOLOLOL That voice is SO annoying! I'd rather turn off the sound than have to listen to that!

Persona 4 was the last disc I spun up on my PS2, less than a year ago. Didn't get around to Last Rebellion (is that good? Should I get it?).

Last Rebellion isn't out yet. March I believe. But I will probably be picking it up, along with a few more PS2 games this year. Just love that there is still life in the old girl. lol

I'm glad that I had my backwards compatible PS3 fixed instead of giving up on it. When it went down I bought a new one and packed the other away but then the PS2 games kept coming strong and outlets are at a premium in a 100+ year old house. lol So I took it in, got it fixed, and I use it for PS2 games just as much as PS3 lately. But then again I do have a humongous backlog of games....hell I have sealed PS1 games....shit.....sealed NES games....um....I think I have a problem...

He's just masking the infected fake official download as a PS2 emulator.

On-Topic - I don't have a console more powerful then the PS2 and several PS2 games. Ya, I still use it.

I still use my PS2 quite a bit, but it definitely shares time with my PC, DS and Xbox 360. I am currently playing Persona 4 for the first time, but i am not sure i will be able to finish it because the disc does not want to load sometimes. I have to mess around with the position of the disc in the tray for a couple pf minutes before i stop getting a "Dsic Read Error." Once it loads up i have no problems with it, but i am worried i will get to a critical part of the game and it will fail to load or something. It was pretty annoying at first because i was really itching to finsih Mass Effect 2 so i could start up Persona 4. I am just glad it started working. Anyway, in the past few months i have used my PS2 to replay Okami, Tales of Legendia, and FFXII. Before that i even gave my PS1 some lovin' and replayed FFIX.

TGM, how old is this kid? If he's above 9 or so, he might just enjoy Shadow of the Colossus, although that's not a fighting game.

He will be 7 in April so not quite ready for SoC but I think I will squirrel a copy away for him when he's ready. Thanks for the idea Feba.^^
