no PS3 demo? oh well at least the AVP demo is next week. BC2 full version isn't until March, so people will already learn in February that AVP is a far better multiplayer game than anything else until FFXIV.

It was only for people who preordered on PS3. Rest of the article says it should be on PSN by February 4th.

Xbox always tries to get their demos out a week early, just to feel more important.

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Demo 360

The demo is definitely interesting. Aside from the technical problems it's having, it's been very enjoyable. Destructible buildings don't seem to be the focus of the game, now, so I can enjoy always finding cover somewhere while being able to open up a building for a new angle on things. Sniper rifles are very powerful and very easy to use, while assault rifles feel underpowered. The medics use LMGs, which is an interesting decision. They're just as powerful as assault, though they lack the ability to cause explosions, and they can heal and revive teammates. Engineers use SMGs and are afforded an RPG launcher for the demo.

Sounds good. After MW2 I'm a little sick of Assault Riffles being so freaking dominant. However I really didn't like how OP LMGs were in MAG. How's the recoil on them in BC2?

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Demo 360

Recoil didn't seem to be much of a problem for any gun. Sniper rifles don't sway, either. I found I couldn't go prone, as well, which was a disappointment. And, slightly similar to the killcam, whoever kills you is automatically viewed while you respawn which sometimes gives their position away. It's not that bad, it didn't always give away an enemy's position. Sometimes where they were didn't really matter, because they continued to move, and others they had an unidentifiable spot.

I really enjoyed my second play. I took a lot of time to snipe, getting into all sorts of counter-sniper battles. The first sniper rifle you have is powerful, but it's bolt-action, which requires you to zoom out and lose your target. The second one, which you unlock after using the first, is weaker and poor aim, but it can fire continuously. The sacrifices are significant, but it's worth it. Needless to say, unless it's a head-shot, you'll have to hit a person twice with a sniper rifle to kill them, so damage doesn't really matter if you're hitting a fresh target.

I like the point system a lot, too. It's pure points, not some kills thing like MW2. You get 50 points for a kill, from 30 to 40 for an assist, an additional 10 for a headshot, 20 or 30 for offense or defense, and savior. I think there's more, but with one shot I managed to rake in 160 points off a single kill. One kill worth three kills. Jawsome.

The vehicles were powerful, but not too powerful, and I feel like I saw a few too many of them. In the original Bad Company the map was very open, allowing for vehicle warfare, but here they're very contained. I really like that the battle was concentrated. Unfortunately, enemies sometimes have easy access to your spawn points. Vehicles often require two people to properly utilize. I LOVE that one vehicle's gunner seat is completely exposed. Picking him off while it's moving is so sweet. One time I hit an ATV with a round from my sniper rifle, it exploded, and I got 150 points for killing the person and destroying the vehicle. The helicopter is super difficult to pilot. It's fun that way, but I had trouble hitting targets with rockets. Most people swamp it's spawn point, and they never get very far with it. Hitting a vehicle with the tracer pistol gives you points, but I've yet to see a point to it with our current weapons.

I miss the ability to point out enemies and vehicles, see a large and detailed map, and call in UAVs. I compare pretty much everything to BF2142.

I'm downloading it now, can't wait to give it a whirl.

Still wish I had the money to pick up MAG though, I miss it

Hopefully this will keep me happy in the mean time.

Tracer point enables an engineer to get a lock-on with a rocket launcher.

Also, pressing the (<) Back button lets you mark an enemy and vehicle in your cross-hairs for everyone to see. Perfect for a sniper. :3

Wish I could play this more... but Mass Effect 2 is too addicting.

LOL I know, right. Last night I said I'd get on BC2 for about 2 hours then go back to Mass Effect for the night. Ended up going about 30 mins over on BC2 and then I was pissed because I had to try to speed through Mass Effect to finish the mission before bed.

Yeah, tracer dart is great when engineers decide to shoot at it >_>. I know one time on the old bad company I put about 3 tracers on one tank and I'm pretty sure 70% of my team were snipers and I didn't notice lol.

Only few things I really don't like about the game is that they removed specialist and divided up its epicness between Engineer (Engineer gets SMGs), Recon (gets C4), and everybody can use the Tracer Dart once unlocked. I wish they had put in a "make your own type class" with parts you unlock, but that could've possibly broken the game I guess, but IDK. I don't even know if I'll be interested in the squad mode play since the majority of the squads I was in were all playing sniper lol. Lastly the knife animation...I liked the original one better lol. Other than that I really like the game.

Conquest mode is supposed to be available from the start isn't it? Not that I don't like rush mode, but Conquest is what made me fall in love with Battlefield to begin with. The conquest mode on BC1 is decent, but I think it should've been in there from the start and not a whole DLC.
