New 55" HDTV 1080p and PS3

So.... What's the best game to get that would tide me over until ffxiii comes out? The games I've played and liked are: all final fantasys (except X-2 ) , hitman, Baldur's gate series, NWN series, Warsong (this game kicked major ass) , the Pool of Radiance series (this kicked ass too.)

Basically i want something that would take advantage of my new HDTV with surround sound and something that's fun to play.

Assassin's Creed 2 would be GREAT on a HD tv like that. Call of Duty MW2 would be nice as well.

I Assassin's Creed kind of like Hitman? I've seen the commercials for it and it does look bad ass. How's the setup? Do you pick a particualr type off assassin yuo want to be then go around killing people based on contracts you're given? That's pretty much how Hotman was setup. Have you beaten it yet or are you still playing? If you did beat it, how long did it take? Is the game scenic with nice long, movie-like CS's?

You don't get to choose what "type" of assassin you want to be when you first start off. The game has GREAT scenery, and has a lot of game play. Its kinda like Hitman, but its more about running about, and evading the guards around town, or killing them one by one, then taking out the target that is given to you by your "boss" basically lol. There are also running missions where you need to get from point A to point B. If you ever played Mirrors Edge, its kinda like that, but with a twist of Hit man. If you haven't played Mirrors Edge, I suggest you play it as well lol. The length of the game is like a RPG game, kinda about as long as Dragon Age.

The second game, you get more Assasxxxxtions contracts, and more Beatup missions, and delivery missions, that aren't part of the story line. Theres also a lot of hidden "stuff", for a lack of a better word, that you need to find for extra stuff lol. You can even buy weapons, but only in the second one.

The first one is needed to be played if you want to know the entire story line.

Look up videos on youtube. AC1, and 2 will be great on a TV like that, as well as Mirrors Edge.

Thats all I can really process now. I have the same setup in my living room and love commandeering the tv for my gaming. My son holes up in his room and my husband just takes a nap in the chair! lol

Hitman and Metal Gear Solid have more than a few things in common, and MGS4 would be lovely on a screen like that, but you'd need to play the first three games to really appreciate the plot. You can probably find the essential collection for cheap, which has all three console games; the first one is PSX, the second and third are PS2. They still look absolutely beautiful (especially the third), but you'll need to stick with your PS2 a bit longer.

Fallout 3 GotY Edition will keep you busy for a long freaking time if you like Western RPGs.

Little Big Planet is also cool ^^


Umm... MAG is also coming out Jan 26th. It's a lot like the Battlefield games but it's up to 256 players at once.


Assassin's Creed is not the same as Hitman. It's a sandbox world and there's a pretty heavy emphasis on stealth and avoiding combat (though you can kick ass pretty hard if need be ^^). It's really more about the plot than just fragging people (I miss Hitman: Blood Money, that game was pretty cool)


Between Dragon Age & Modern Warfare 2 though, you'll have plenty of stuff to keep you occupied for a long time.

Uhhh.. Last Remnant isn't on the PS3.. I don't remember seeing him saying Xbox. I would also recommend Infinite sonata if you like games with LOTS of great scenery. Its a bit childish, but its a game with very nice scenery. It also has a fairly decent story line.

As for getting Dragon Age, just look it up on Amazon, or just go into Game stop. Seen a few used copies here.

Another vote for Dragon Age and Call of Duty

You can pick up Oblivion for less than $20 bucks and it will keep you occupied for a while.

I also enjoyed Resistance 2 and Killzone. Those two can probably be found cheap as well.

It never did when I was looking for it. Wish it would soon, so I don't have to keep playing it on my brothers Xbox...

I also forgot to post something in my last post.

Oblivion is a good game... It can get boring fairly fast though. It all depends on what you do. Creatures don't respawn either, and the graphics could be better lol.

I thought it was released for the PS3. I know the PS3 fanboys were poking the 360 fanboys about it on the forums but I didn't really look it up to see if it came out. I played it on the 360 though so check first to see if its out on the PS3.

Eternal Sonata (not Infinite Sonata) is ok. Just ok. If you can get it cheap it is a very pretty anime style game.
