Confirmed: Only PC, Wii, PSP and DS have the power to do RPG towns.

This whole last week between FFXIII and Mass Effect 2 has reminded me of the problems Deus Ex 2 had, why it had them and why its rather infuriating that it was rejected at its time for the same reason Mass Effect 2 and FFXIIII are and will be accepted.

Deus Ex 2 paid the price for trying to be too pretty by becoming a smaller game with less exploration. This is SE's town logic for FFXIII.

Stripping the RPG experience and other sophisticated RPG elements down to a big dumb shooter? That was the rest for what Deus Ex 2 did and Mass Effect 2 does. The only real difference being is that Deus Ex wore its RPG elements better than Mass Effect did, so going the way of the shooter was clearly frustrating to fans.

360 users just asskiss Bioware anyway, if it has shooter elements, all the better for the Halo generation. I mean, Bioware invented dialog branches, am I rite? That's way better than what japanese developers do. So a big dumb shooter can magically become an RPG, too. Except Borderlands has more RPG elements now than Mass Effect 2 does.

If Deus Ex 2 came out now, it would probably have been a hit. I accepted most of its streamlined elements for what the were and enjoyed them, bt man, PC gamers were throwing a shitstorm over it. And now, those PC gamers are drooling all over Mass Effect 2. Cuz its Bioware and they can do no wrong.

Well, "Return to Ostagar" was rail, but they'll gloss over that somehow.

What's really depressing is the thought that this could be only a small exaggeration. I have very little faith in game designers as of late.

I am not sure I want FFXIII anymore........ I think I will leave my preorder for now, but wait and but it till a good bit later, when I can get it cheaper then 59.99 -.-

I just hope FFXIV does not suffer from laziness as FFXIII has.

This states the opposite. I will buy the game brand new at full price (well, minus friends employee discount =P) and THEN if it's as bad as some people claim it to be, I'll agree with some of you. Until then, I'll save my breath.

Well technically they're not so much towns as they are identical equipment shops and pubs with different offerings, but true that on the battlefields.
