WoW looks like we are getting this game after all, I am very surprised

about to be in beta, and the game will be F2P

Will it suck? *shrugs* but if its something to pass the time till FFXIV beta/release, I am all for it ;p

It says its more action, and can use a 360 controller, so no clue how the battle system really is.

Something about this screamed Ragnarok Online to me.
I can't remember if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Either way I'll probably pass since the screenshots looked a bit too cutesy.

yeah they said its anime style, so that drives a good few away, I wanted to try this WAY back when it was in Japanese beta, and, then it never came here because it was reported that it failed *shrugs* but now they are bringing it here, and it will be F2P, and I think even free period.

Oh god no that doesn't remind me of RO, it looks a lot better than that! lol There are a lot of games out there that are anime-ish in style, its quite popular in the Asian countries. I wonder if this is going to be a micro transaction game.

it will be, they said the in game currency is called "orbs" or at least that is what Wiki says, they may called them something different here.

I also read that the music is done by the same guy that did FF Tactics and Vagrant story, so now I am even more interested.

I signed up for the "beta" or whatever, but this gets me more excited about the OST than the game lol.

Hope the microtransactions aren't like most free games that give you items that double Hp/Mp, increase Def, Attack, Agi, Drop Rate, Extra money,increased Exp, "cute" outfits, items that boost so many stats, postions for Hp/Mp and so on.

nope, every one has 1000HP 100"MP" (SW) MAX, even at lvl 1.

The GMs on the forum have already said you can get any shop item in game. Plus the best stuff in the game is actually acquired with the currency gained with PvP

When this game first came out there were a lot of threads about it here. I think Ping even made a separate site for it. I seem to recall it bombed because it ran very poorly.

Jei played it, so maybe ask him what it was like. I bet it's changed a lot since then though.

I only played for a few months right after it was release. It probably had changed a lot by now D:

The game had no real story line for you to participate in. Just war to take over territory. The zones your faction own, you can go to it and PvE with mobs for levels. Opposing faction can gather in that zone but PvP will not be allowed until enough people gather up and trigger a war. You get server wide notification that war might break out in the zone giving people chance to travel to participate.

Once the war breaks out people usually start by harvesting crystals. Each player can only harvest until they have 10 crystals but you can receive more from other players. So basicly everyone will give the crystals to a person act as bank which will give out crystals to other players when they need seige weapons or special units built.

It felt pretty casual, the war usually don't last longer than 20-30 minutes. And no one will really care if you leave or AFK. Not so bad to hop in and have fun once in a while. The problem tho, there were only 3-4 zones to war and they got full pretty quick. Sometimes I couldn't join any war for hours, felt almost like looking for PT in XI lol....

Anyway, without group of friends to talk and hang out with I couldn't play the game too long. The Japanese conversation felt much more advance compare to FFXI's....

Thanks for the input, it sounds like it would be fun. Did you ever feel like you had to purchase something (with real money) in order to have a fighting chance in the game?
