So a new Transformers game is coming out, completely unrelated to the movies. Set at the start of the war on Cybertron (hence the title) with a heavy G1 influence. The second trailer just came out today and hot damn is that some good CGs.

I think I saw a trailer of it about a month ago, but it was a incredibad video. It must've been a cam version or something lol.

The CG CS's do look pretty sweet. I'd like to see some gameplay videos of it in action.

The original video was just a short teaser trailer made to look like it was a garbled transmission. Poor quality, very short and broken up into smaller clips. This is the full version that just got released, and gives us a much better view at some of the old bots who are in this game.

Oh well they did a great job of that then lol. That Great Axe that Optimus has is pretty awesome looking.

Necrobumping this topic since the game is about a month away.

Confirmed features:

-Campaign mode features a story seen from both sides of the war and see how it all started
-3 player online co-op for the entire campaign, with a "drop in, drop out" style so even if your short one player the AI will still back you up
-Choose from 9 confirmed Autobots and 8 confirmed Decepticons for campaign mode
-6 different multiplayer vs modes, Deathmatch, TDM, Power Struggle (capture nodes for your side as they spawn), Code of Power (grab your enemies' code as many times as you can before time runs out), Countdown to Extinction (plant and detonate the bomb in your enemies' base) and Conquest (control points).
-Create your own Transformers by choosing one of 4 classes, one of multiple chassis, a custom color scheme, A Primary and Secondary weapon, 4 active abilities and 3 passive abilities.
-Make multiple different transformers to try out all the different classes and combos.
-Earn killstreak bonuses unique to your class to help win battles.

So far it looks like it'll be a good game. Maybe not the greatest, but it should be one of the best Transformers games to come out since, like, forever.

Also, those looking to pre-order it, certain stores are giving away different characters with pre-orders. Gamestop Pre-Order comes with a code to unlock a G1 looking Shockwave, Best Buy comes with a code to unlock a G1 looking Jazz and Amazon comes with a code to unlock an Armada version Demolishor. Though I'm sure in time they'll all be free DLC like most pre-order bonues.

I remember seeing some gameplay on G4's X-play and the game looked like a good 3rd person shooter. I probably will pick this one up.

It's a TPS where you always have three bots in your group (unless one dies) that your friends can just jump right in and join you by taking control of one of the bots. Though I don't think it has any local co-op so it's all done over online play. But yea, gameplay wise it's a basic TPS right down to being able to pick up weapons from all around the zone when the one you're using starts running low on ammo.

Also, iirc the land based vehicles actually have three transformation modes instead of the basic two. They have their basic bot mode, a wheeled mode where they can drive around like normal cars and a hover mode (a throw back to the original cartoon) where they're slower, but more agile allowing them to dodge and return fire that much easier. The Jets only have two modes though as they don't really need a third. So that mechanic should make this game much different from other TPSs.

Saw that commercial earlier today, made me smile. I've been impressed with they lengths they're going to to make this more in-line with the cartoons and I like the look of the game so far.

Needs more Six Shot, though.

They made a line of awesome-looking Transformers based off the designs of the game.

The good part is they're posable, the bad part seems to be that they're not so good at the transforming aspect.

Do not grieve for Optimus, boys and girls. He's already dead.

If there's one thing Hasbro does best, it's make toys. And it's Transformers toys have been, for the most part, superb since '06 in terms of detail, articulation, transformation, and fan wankery. These four are part of Hasbro's new Transformers: Generations toyline, a line where they can literally shove any character from any series and any era on the shelves in a single, uniform packaging. It's going to be one of the three mainline Transformers toylines on the shelves for the next few years, along side their current movie line (which will run all the way until the third movie comes out), and a smaller sub-line of combiners which will eventually be replaced by the toys from the new cartoon.
