Much less of a headache than programming kneeling positions, I'm sure. Also, if a shoulder mounted laser cannon is too much recoil for 2 legs, then the double cannons-for-both-arms would be too much for 'em too. Yet whether I use the lightest and quickest legs possible or the heavy, sturdy fellas, down on one knee I go with my chaingun.

Also, couldn't the hovers shoot them just fine? As if they weren't potent enough...

(admitted bias: I don't like anything but normal, human style legs)

Hovers actually had to land to use back cannons, which killed their main functionality in their ability to float over water where everything else would sink. Though they got rid of hover legs completely because now any legs can just glide through water instead of being instantly drowned.

Which I like. Nothing like starting a mission and then discovering "Oh, it's almost entirely water! And I'm mostly close-ranged weaponry!"

Armored Core games need to do a better job of telling you what you're getting into BEFORE you accept the mission.

I accept a mission, after I am told what I have to do, I back out of it, and go change what I need to change.

No they don't, and AC4 was REALLY bad for that since you unlike in previous entries, you were not told the details of a mission until you were already locked in and about to start it, thus preventing you from tweaking your set up specifically for said mission.

Armored Core games need to do a better job of telling you what you're getting into BEFORE you accept the mission.

Most of the older ones at least gave you a simple pic of where the mission was taking place, and AC4A gave pretty good descriptions of every mission before you signed on, as well as telling you where it was going down.

Also:

Everyone's favorite partner! If her AC is heavily armored and armed to the teeth it must follow that the female pilot is beautiful and deliciously curvy!

That's May Greenfield and the Merrygate! Finally got around to poppin AC:4A back in and checking it out.

I remember seeing lots of things like a pic of water and it's because there's a river you have to cross and it's easy. Then there will be another with a bit of water and a building. then you start the mission and realize that building is an air craft carrier or some shit and you have about 10 AC-lengths of standing space in the ENTIRE MISSION. and yeah, then there's me going into the mission where the objective is to shoot down all the little missiles. my armament? a sniper rifle and a laser blade?
