Here's a little DS game creeping in other the radar, its actually based off the anime World Destruction, but I also have come to understand that a large portion of the guys who developed Xenogears are also behind it.

I guess this is why Toppi Topuran was an easter egg in Phantasy Star Zero, Sega's publishing this. Apprently they're not doing much to hype it up, either, if this trend continues with Sega not marketing these games, there's not much hope of Infinite Space doing well in March.

Here's some links for those interested. Its landing in stores on Jan 12, totally under the radar and if PSZ was any indication, it won't be published in large quantities.

I can't say I was fond of the anime. If it deviates significantly from that it might be worth a look, but I'm not holding my breath.

Well, Nintendo Power did have a review of it, more or less they said that the gameplay and dungeon stuff was great fun, but that the story wasn't really anything new or special. They gave it a 7.0.

Of course, you have to take a bit of anything Nintendo Power reviews with a grain of salt. A few salt-shakers, even.

From what I recall the story could have been awesome, but they didn't have the balls to see it through and opted for something very cliche instead. I was thoroughly disappointed with it.

It could have been so much better

Infinite Space is an RPG in which you are a captain over a fleet of starships, there is a roster of over 100 characters to assign to duties within these ships, you can customize those ships and explore the large galaxy within the game on either missions of diplomacy or war.

And naturally, as you navigate the vast galaxy of the game, enemy ships can decloak and attack you for an excuse to have random battles.

Its made by the folks that brought us Bayonetta and Madworld and its looking like its going to take every Star Trek game ever and give it a swift kick in the pants.

Dunno if there's any on-board combat and ship invasions, but the rest of it sounds pretty hot to me.

It also carries a strong 80's sci-fi anime vibe.
