Yellow Mage, have you ever wondered why you never can get a date?

I don't think anyone cares about Duke Nukem at all now, but apparently at 3D Realms you can work on a game for more years than Too Human and still put food on the plate for a game that doesn't exist.

Maybe I should look into a job there.

And Ketaru, FFXII hunts are all straight-up hunts, slightly more inspired by Monster Hunter, I guess. You won't send away someone to do the dirty work while you attend to other missions, you do them all.

Montblanc handsomely rewards you for progressing those Hunts as well as the boss encounters you'll face in the main story, to boot. Real action is in the Elite Marks, but you'll also get some story additions for doing the other hunts.

Ya, the marks were what really kept me from throwing FFXII out the window. Loved the little stories they put into each of them.

Anywho... I second the FFVIII remake! o.o/ Was my first, actually. Boy was I late~

I totally wanted to play Duke Nukem Forever, but you appear to be behind the times.

Not to play a game or one-upsmanship here, but you appear to behind the times.

At the very least, 3D Realms seems to believe they're working on Duke Nukem games.

I don't know if I believe them, but news keeps coming up for some reason. Maybe he's replaced the Phantom console as an ongoing vaporware joke..

                Re: Oh that Nomura!

graphics and additions did make Resident Evil Remake 100 times more fun and a little scarier than the original.

Chrono 3 is unlikely I don't think they still have a worthy team to make it as great as the others.

Vagrant Story 2 is way too risky and most likely to flop. Where would it take place? How would it play? With Ashley's power over the Dark,
he's almost invincible, and it would feel totally different from the first game. It's just not possible to make it work without Matsuno and Yoshida working on it. and Yoshida is busy with FFXIV.

a FFVII remake would be great if it's really next-gen looking while preserving all the gameplay, story and locations from the original.
If they dumb down the world map or battle system it would risk being not so great. But I would play a high quality FFVII remake with
fully realized 3-D world, I don't mind if the battle system is exactly the same but the HUD has to take up less space, and the random
encounters have to go (unless you're on the world map).

                    Re: Oh that Nomura!

Yeah, I think you're alone on the block people thing. Gotta remember FFVII was kinda built off an engine they had originally intended to go with for N64 before they became more attracted to the disc format that PSOne was sporting. They had a demo version of FFVI running on N64 and it was a bit blockier and ugly than FFVII was.

I won't deny that FFVII hasn't aged that well, could have some balance issued addressed and in dire need of a fresh localization. But as it stands, its also readily available and apparently selling strong in its digital download form for PSP and PS3.

But if SE thinks they can just jump right ahead to FFVII, passing over FFV and FFVI after giving FFI-FFIV the remake treatment, they'd better fucking think again. FFVI, in particular, is not something you just pass over. I would want to see FFV and FFVI get the FFI and FFII PSP treatment AT LEAST before they go bonkers on an HD remake of FFVII.

This. FFVII is an awesome game and all, but it's been milked so much it's almost not funny.

FFV and VI DS first, please.

                        Re: Oh that Nomura!

FFV doesn't really need a remake; maybe expand the game a bit, but doing anything in terms of graphics or plot would be kinda silly. It's a stupid-fun game, the battle system is what makes it worth bothering with; remake just risks fucking that up.

FFVI, on the other hand, I would love to see get the HD Remix treatment all of the FFVII fans are dying to see. Firstly because FFVI never had the big love FFVII did, and it could really use it; Secondly because it could make much better use of next-gen hardware than FFVII anyway; and thirdly because I want to see all of the CloudxSephiroth shippers cry.

I don't know, I think Square did a good job on rebalancing the jobs in FF3DS. They're probably broken enough in the original V (didn't play it extensively to try out all sorts of things, but I've seen some things, and, well, Blink) so they'd probably fix more than they'd break.

And FFV's graphics were pretty weak even by SNES standards.

But then again I doubt FFV and FFVI are the remake that's been so hotly demanded.

If they use the guy for Kefka from Dissidia for an HD remake of FFVI, I might be able to live with that.

It would also make Sephiroth fans realize that without Crisis Core, Sephiroth is just a pale imitation of Kefka.

The problem with this argument is that there is no such thing as "without Crisis Core" to Sephiroth fans.
