The Public Beta download is up in the PSN store, but the game won't be playable until Monday since the servers are down. Might be better to download it now just in case 256 million people try to download it on monday and lag the server lol. *Shrugs Shoulders* well it happens on XBL sometimes.

Well the Beta is OK so far...

Connection Problems can get annoying and thankfully I've only had 1 instance of team killing (that guy was a serious douche bag, and despite yelling on my headset only a few people voted to kick him even though he was TK them as much as he could)


I'm finding the snipers are annoying as hell though. I just unlocked the second one but haven't actually had a chance to fire it yet thanks to constant disconnects (which only just started up) and said TK asshole. But, I did notice it's much less stable than the EBR but it also has a higher damage rating. It was pissing me off regardless though, how many people were just blowing me away at ridiculous range with LMGs.

The EBR also takes 3+ hits to kill depending on the enemies' armor (which is BS but whatever) unless you go for the headshot, but omg the margin of error is like... wtf. They give you such a tiny, sad excuse of a crosshair...

I dunno, the controls just don't feel as smooth as MW2. But so far the game's OK.

Has anyone come across any vehicles? Honestly, when the whole infantry section of games like these don't impress me, I stick being the main tanker (The story of my BFBC life~) I can't seem to find any. Hell, I thought this one SUV was drivable near the Valor spawn of that Crosshill map.

I'm guessing we'll find them in other game modes, but now I'm wondering if the beta even has more than Sabotage.

Also... *strangles hit-detection* Already this game is looking like a miss. I had more fun with Frontlines, even. Theirs was even worse!

Do NOT get me started on the hit detection, what the fuck.

Seriously tired of being sniped by LMG fire when I can see the person first from miles away with my Sniper and pop 'em in the chest. Speaking of, honestly what the hell man? The second sniper (LS86 or something?) has a much better damage rating than the EBR, but I still can't OSK people unless it's a headshot even if they have light armor. In the mean time, if I don't pop their head quickly I then proceed to get ass-raped by absurdly long-range AR/LMG fire.

Really not impressed so far, especially since this is yet another FPS dominated by Assault Rifles.

I got on earlier for about an hour and then got off do do some other stuff. By the time I got back on the servers were down and what not so I just started playing Disgaea 3 lol. Hopefully this doesn't happen with the real game and we have a situation like what happened to Bad Company when it came out.

btw, can someone please explain why the hell my Bluetooth headset I got with Warhawk won't f'ing work properly with this game? It's worked fine in every other game I've played with it on...

I had a few problems with the game being extremely unclear. I spent a lot of time wondering if the LMG was a rifle or not, because it looks and fires like a rifle. It actually has better accuracy than the rifle, which is very odd. The skills are separated into sets, which only a certain number of points necessary in one to unlock the subsequent, but they don't tell you how much. There's a rifle skill that will prevent your gun from wandering while you're attempting to fire, which must be the most important rifle skill ever because how the hell are you going to fire it if it's not in your hands? There's an SMG skill that enhances your ability to refire, which I'm assuming means pulling your bullets out of dead people and putting them back in your gun.

The combat has me extremely confused. It all seems to be completely random. Any bullet can cause a head shot, no matter what it hits, and they each seem to make up their own damage. I've hosed people down in close range, only to have them turn around and instantly kill me. I've peppered people from a distance without getting a kill, while others seem to tear me apart with only a few bullets. I know there's three different kinds of armors, but how could it take so long to kill anybody else when I, wearing the heaviest, am torn apart so quickly all the time?

And, to top it off, nobody revives. So it's always a two minute walk back to wherever you died just to start all over. I can tell who plays MW2, because they ALWAYS come back to where they died. At least now I have enough hiding places that I can always surprise them for an easy kill.

But yeah wtf @ the game in general. I know it's only the BETA, but Christ it's like they didn't even try before launching it. As it stands this game doesn't have a prayer standing up against MW2. It's a shame too since there's no absurd killstreaks, but essentially MAG seems to play like a bigger, shittier Battlefield game. Hopefully they'll do some major tweaking and fix it.

Oh yeah, and while I'm at it W T F @ the SEVR maps. Dear God are those ever rigged for the defender.

The skill system is fucking retarded. I should be able to pick and choose my skills in an intelligent manner to better my performance, but no. I'm forced to pick and choose between the lesser of multiple evils because I don't know why. I don't want to put points into multiple pieces of equipment for the same slot, so why am I either forced to or given little alternative? Why the fuck did I purchase a stock when the gun I purchased right after already have one built in? It's completely ridiculous.

I played a few matches last night, and I swear almost every match I played that we were the defenders. I got in one match last night that actually had a squad commander, which was interesting. Finally got in a match where we were the attackers and I almost took Base A but unfortunately I didn't have backup lol and they ended up taking it back. I realized that I did better with the sniper rifle and I just started running around with it like it was a assault rifle...

I don't like how if you miss your window to jump back into the game, you have to wait another 20 seconds to get a second chance lol. I didn't even realize what or where the upgrades were until I hunted for them last night.

Something I still haven't figured out, if someone has a + by their name, does that mean they are a healer or they need to be healed? I unlocked the ability to heal others last night before I went to bed.

Depending on the skills you choose, you're assigned a specific icon. In the case of support jobs, there's one icon for three or four different roles. It's a pair of wrenches forming the medic's cross. It could mean a variety of things, one of which being that they can heal and revive. You should be able to see a player's health above their head once you're able to heal others.
