What's the Funniest RPG You've Ever Played

Some RPG have funny moments and others have more of a comedy feel.

I think the funniest RPG I ever played was Earthbound ( EarthBound (series) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) on the SNES.

The plot was that a space ship landed with mind controlling aliens on it. I was LOL from the very first 5 minutes on. At the start you learn this from an alien that looks like a fly who communicates telepathically with you. You walk into your house and your mother screams and smashes the alien fly. He has a death scene where he gasps telling you the fate of the world in on your shoulders "which you already know because you've probably played games like this before". It had me rolling from that moment on.

I think Super Mario RPG is packed with lots of humor.

Dragon Age Origins is kinda funny when you listen to Wynn and Allistar talk to each other. XD

And even playing as a female elf and having a relationship with allistar makes it even better. ((Allistars a bumbbling fool at times lol))

Not sure I've ever heard those two talk before, but listening Liliana talk with Morrigan is always very amusing. They are complete opposites of each other.

Anyway, funniest RPG I ever played? Mmmm, I dunno, I can't think of one that I've played that was particularly funny. A lot of them had funny moments, but that's really it. Probably a tie between Tales of Symphonia and Chrono Trigger. Tales, of course, had all those skits, and watching the characters interact in general was vaguely like watching Scrubs (hilarious most of the time, depressing at plot points, depressingly hilarious on occasions such as Colette's epic clumsiness). Chrono Trigger had a bit less of that, but

Stops being funny at about 7:00. I'm sure they took a few...liberties with their translation, but I forgive them. Seriously, "I bet she fucks like a tiger"?

Honorary mention goes to any scene involving the Captain of the Thames in Xenogears. He is a true Man of the Sea. Well and anything Bart is involved in that isn't directly relevant to his past.

Super Mario RPG has its fair share of moments too.

Most recent funny RPG: Brutal Legend. Worth a play-through if only for the excellent voice acting and copious amount of zingers.

Funniest of all time: Undoubtedly Conker's Bad Fur Day. Nothing else comes even close.

Pretty much every Mario RPG ever has been among the funniest, mostly because it allows them to poke fun at things they generally don't have time to within the platformers.

The bonus "footage" in Persona 3 is pretty funny, periodically you go up to the observation room to see these recordings that probably shouldn't be on-record.

Staircase sequence in the Shinra Corp. Building in FFVII is also hilarious, then again any time you pick "let's take the stairs" in any game, people bitching at each other and complaining is a given.

Also, Dragon Quest VIII and most bits involving the King, Yangus or Jessica.

Dragon Age: Origins was not funny at all. The city elf storyline was horrific, especially if you play as a passive female character. If you play as an evil character it turns into flat out nightmare fuel.

I found the Disgaea series a lot of fun as well as the rest of the games in it's universe. Those games frequently poked fun at themselves and the entire genre. Well except Disgaea 2. Mary Sue Etna is not fun or funny at all even if Michelle Ruff is her voice actor.

FFV was funny too purely because it hardly takes itself seriously and it probably the most light hearted FF game in the series even if it does have quite possibally the saddest scene in any FF game.
