The trailers of 13 have blown me away. I love shit like this. However, nobody can really say how good the game is until they play it. Just have to wait and see.

I've wandered back and forth on my opinion of them, for the longest time my enthusiasm was certainly curbed by the PS3's price point and 360's lack of reliability. Not to mention the cheaper PS3 got, the more gimped prior models seemed, so I'm certainly glad to have waited. Getting a PS3 that getting a PS3 feels more practical than three years ago, its easier to be interested. Getting a 360 is as questionable as ever and I'm just not a fan of MS requesting each developer sacrifice their game's dignity just to put some content up on the fucking marketplace.

I'm actually proud of SE for standing up to MS and not putting up with their shit. Then again, they can do that because they have Final Fantasy and they know they can probably break MS's spirit with that alone.

I'm pretty sure the closer FFXIV gets to release, they'll start to relent about that Xbox Live Gold requirement they want for FFXIV. Hell, I remember when FFXI was announced for 360 and MS was babbling about exclusive job classes for players on live - as if that shit was going to sprout wings and fly.

You know, I think that might be where all my resentment comes from. The FF franchise(as of late) strikes me as a mainstream anime that somehow got turned into a video game, with the anime never getting released. Or at least the trailers for FFXIII certainly give me that impression.

Miyamoto is not as good as before. Was he responsible for the awful Wiimote andf Wiifit and all that? Did he really allow
New Super Mario Wii to have two toads instead of a 4th unique playable character? Why bother with a Super Mario Galaxy 2?
The first one was overrated anyways. And Twilight Princess was basically Zelda 64 with new paint job.

But I guess it's better than Celda, which competely made Link look like a cornball (even CD-i Link looks cooler.)

And he says things like wanting a new Star Fox, but he doesn't bother to make it happen.
He's too busy counting his money. That's why Wii is weaker than any previous Nintendo console, with
a much weaker lineup than even Gamecube. They really toss around a bunch of bad ideas and lame games,
and only one game that stands out of everything they release in a year.

Miyamoto was the best of the best long ago, but now he's just a has been.

I like Final Fantasy as a whole, and I like all of Miyamoto's work as a whole..... but I dont hold FF deves at this really high pedestal you placed them on, they are not that great......and same thing with Miyamoto, as much as I like his games a a whole, there are some I really dont like. Zelda Windwaker for instance.

To say that Final Fantasy is soooo great, and then turn around and say that Miyamoto's work is "bleh" really....?

I think it's a tad unfair to detract from his talent just because you don't like every single game he's responsible for. I mean do you like every song from Queen or the Beatles? I sure don't.

Sure he may not be THE ULTIMATE because that's pretty goddamned subjective but just about everything he touches turns to gold. Then again, he wanted Kirby to be yellow.

I can't see how any Zelda fan could dislike Wind Waker unless they got pissed off at the fetch quest at the end though.

The man has influenced far more than what Nintendo does, he has influenced the industry as a whole.

If the Wiimote is such a "bad" idea, then why are PS3 and MS conjuring their own versions of the concept of using bodily motion to control games? Miyamoto more or less created a concept that was more practical than Sony's original attempt with Eyetoy - which, at best, was a novelty and nothing more with few gameplay uses. Wiimote has proven to be practical for several genres of gaming, drawn in new customers and brought a fitness element to a medium criticized for breeding couch potatoes.

The company that "wins" is usually the company others end up trying to emulate. Miyamoto got a world of people into games that would have never otherwise touched them, now Sony and MS want in. Of course, MS have been the ones that never underestimate Nintendo. Could be because they have a former Sega of America VP in their ranks constantly reminding them of that.

PS3 and MS are copying the motion controls because they are starting to follow Nintendo's bad example these days.
Wiimote IS NOT practical for Mario games, Metroid games, and just about any game that isn't some Rail Shooter.
Also if I recall, wiimote has no cable option whatsoever, so you have to waste batteries and batteries just to keep using it.
Ya it has a charger, but why should a controllers limitations stop us from playing or need a backup because it's out of electricity?

At least the other consoles have cable option to keep playing.

Nintendo's soul is so weak these days, all the 3rd parties prefer PS3 and Xbox360 for the biggest name games (oh ya, Wii gets Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, and some rail shooter sequel/spin-off of Dead Space.....what a big deal....not. )

that's why Wii will NEVER get all of the best FPS games, best RPGs, best racing games, best action games, best adventure games. The only thing Nintendo hangs on to is the platformer title, but that's pretty much it. Nintendo is steering the industry in a bad direction. I'm just glad the other companies didn't follow Nintendo's bad example of not supporting proper online service and
online playability for more of its games. that's why New SMB Wii is only optimally fun to those who play locally. if Left 4 Dead or Uncharted 2 was that limiting, it wouldn't have made as much money or fans.

Wii is underneath superior consoles that have better library of games, better online gaming, and far better controllers.

Buy 15-Minute Rechargable Batteries... They work extremely well. I agree about the battery packs though, I bought one of those battery pack sets for the wii awhile back and the bastards worked for 5 mins then died.

IMO Wii is more set up for more casual family friendly environments and tries to encourage interaction in the same room. Sure you could play NSMB online if they made it that way, but do you know how hard it'd be to coordinate moves since you can only use up so much screen at one time? They'd have to make wii communicators then so you could talk online.

Anyways Wii Sports Resort and Wii Sports are two of the most fun games I've ever played especially in multiplayer with other people. The only other games that I felt that same level of fun were Unreal Tournament on Dreamcast and Goldeneye on N64.

I said it as a joke earlier... but seriously now.

Anyways I don't know why we read J9 topics since as soon as somebody proves you wrong, you try to come back with these "undefeatable" (As in you continue to come back with the same nonsense) defenses that make no sense.

some Wii owners have been complaining of using Wiimote for NSMB. and others just accept it even though they know deep inside Nintendo could have made a better controller that didn't require stupid motion controls that are not as effective as
a simple button press.

Even the gamecube controller, which isn't as practical as a
SNES controller, is better. But I heard NSMB doesn't even support gamecube controller.

it doesn't have to be timing sensitive to be important. what about those seesaw things? a controller shouldn't force us to
apply greater physical application to do something so simple like moving those seesaws. No wonder someone I know doesn't play Wii for long, that controller is too much of a work out. It's really a conspiracy that Nintendo wants players to play games for less amounts of time by tiring their arms out.

I mean people already get a serious workout out of fighting games, now imagine playing Street Fighter 4 with a Wiimote, everyone at shoryuken.com would give Capcom the finger if SF4 at arcades only had a controller like Wiimote.
