Interesting. I was skeptical of this MMO at first but it sounds like Toriyama finally gave those of us that hated GT, which he had nothing to do with other than character design, an answer to where the future would lead in the Dragon Ball Universe.

I wish a Koren Social Security number wasn't needed to try it out at this point.

they made way to big of a deal about that..... each race has its own transform move, and all it does it change the look and increase stats. I am waiting for the English version to come out, and I will try it out, but I am not really expecting much to be honest.

mew! but the charm of turning super sayian and being stronger and stuff in a open world mmorpg, is a feeling unlike any other!

sigh....the english version might not even be announced until next year. -.-; But the open beta has been going on for a few months now. Maybe progress for international release may be sooner than expected? Well at least we know Japan version is already being prepared.

God that is one awful looking game,
Never really been a fan of dragonball stuff and it's a shame that I dont know why.
I have friends that like it but it just never grabbed me,
I just found it badly animated. switching views to one another, somebody lets out a roar/scream, cue seizure inducing flashes, enemy dead, some random twist. I just found it painful to watch and its storytelling is like a hyperactive child would do so constantly changing and adding things.

I've really tried to like Dragonball stuff but for me it's never happened. I think it's beyond lame.
The Mmo looks really childlike I have no time for cutesy.

its alot less "cutesy" then many other MMORPGs out there, the reason it looks like that, is because when you start the game out, your a kid, then you grow into a teen.

I has alot more potential then most of the generic free MMORPGs out there, but it at least has a decent base to start off from.

oh yes definitely! It's very unique and cool how it has everyone start as a child, and eventually become an adult!
It really makes you feel more like a veteran later on, because you are older than all of the kids that start out.

And I wouldn't say it's cutesy. Ragnarok Online is cutsey. Hello Kitty mmorpg is cutesy. This is more between mature and innocent. Just like the Dragonball atmosphere always was. Colorful, but has its sharp and dark side to it.

Also the action looks blazing fun! They are already preparing an expansion for the open beta, adding new missions involving ginyu force and possibly Freeza. And a new time traveling villain that is rumored to be the creator of Miira!


Also Akira Toriyama has worked along side this project since the story, even the story is official canon and official sequel to DBZ! It's very fascinating how the Dragonball universe has evolved and what's far better than new episodes, is an actual living breathing mmorpg to immersive oneself in. =^.^=

the only thing I don't like is how the majority of players use that RTS camera view when playing these mmorpgs. Ugh. I guess more
closer and eye level camera perspective (which this game supports fully like FFXI does.) So it's good it has camera view options for different tastes. The overhead/isometric view most players choose to use, really doesn't do this mmorpg justice. But that's my opinion.

I use to be a huge DBZ fan back in high school and some of college. Then I begin to notice that everyone had the same moves. It was either a beam cannon of different color/diameter,a fireball of different color/diameter, or a sphere of different color/diameter.

There were some characters that had really unique abilities but they ended up being obsolete by the fireball or beam cannon in later episodes. A couple of good examples are Captian Ginyu(able to switch bodies with is opponents) and Guldo(able to freeze time).

I probably give this MMO a try, it could either be very good or very bad.
