Sigh, I think some ppl are going to see this games credits to figure out who's stupid idea was it
to have the 3rd and 4th the same basic type of character. I mean, it doesn't need to be a Smash game
to offer more playables than that. One top of that, it's said if someone is playing alone, they can't choose
who they want to use! *slaps Nintendo's wrist*. I wonder what Sakurai is doing these days?
It's like Nintendo is barely trying to make a GREAT game these days. Not just a good game. :p

But I just got back from playing this at Gamestop and its one of the best Marios of all time.

So, here's an idea - play it rather that just watch a fucking video on Youtube and judging it on character palate swaps. I just watched people struggle on level 1-1 and then I breezed my way though to level 1-4 without dying. This game is for people that know their 2D Marios, I wouldn't say its super hard, but it has no problem throwing a whole history of old and new mechanics in those first four levels.

I got through because I played Mario 3 and World to death, its second nature to me. Anyone new to Marios is going to have a hell of a time with this one. Anyone that owns a Wii, but doesn't somehow get this game should give it to someone that will make better use of it - like me.

I think they could've came up with something better than two Toads, but I believe we discussed this in another topic awhile ago. Gonna be extremely fun, too bad I don't have enough money to get it since I got Assassin's Creed reserved already >_>.

However, I still wouldn't buy it. It's definitely rent-worthy, but idk if I'd by this. Now, if they were to remake Super Mario Bros. 3 in full 3D...

someone is hosting a 15+ part walkthrough series, it's really good! (best Mario story intro, EVER!!!!! )

it is a nice video with really witty and sometimes funny commentary, plus they show the complete intro! (best Mario intro, EVER!!!! *huggles Koopalings, EXCEPT Koopa Kid Jr. or whatever that stupid dragon turtles name is that has hogged most of the Mario games for an entire generation along with his uncreative color coded clones that were in that Mario Party game, sorry for the long run on sentence. :D )

What, you mean they finally got back to making solid platform games instead of that barrage of story nonsense? I finally get to have another Mario game that doesn't bother with trying to tell a story and just throws a ton of levels at me? Count me in, it's been too long since Super Mario World came out and I've been itching for a good platformer.

I'm not understanding the rancor here.

Super Mario Bros 3 = best platformer ever.

Mario 64 = best 3D mario ever (well, tough call between this and Galaxy)


Therefore, combining the two = epic win. I mean honestly, Nintendo would have to try pretty damned hard to fuck that one up. I want my full 3D free-roaming with the giant mechanical boot of PWNAGE. Plus I really miss the suits in that game too, they were fun. Sure, I could just play old copy of the game that I've beaten a million times over, or I could hold out on Nintendo making what could quite possibly be the most epic Mario game of all time. Screw you nay-sayers (still holding out on some Mega Man 3D remakes as well... in the mean time that 2.5 D stuff is pretty impressive)

Raccoon hat was the best version of the flying powerup. Followed by the cape from Super Mario World.

anyway this YT host has even better walkthrough vids, no commentary, and full game audio. plus they completed
the worlds up to 3 so far, they will upload world 4 maybe tommorrow.

EDIT: I guess I'll be picking the game up today. I just remembered that I was supposed to have some Best Buy Reward Points coming in tomorrow, but they came in early. So basically I get SMB Wii for 9.99 plus tax.
