Crushing Prison, Cone of Cold, and Forcefield are all really sweet actually. They just about make up for the rest of the worthless crap floating around in the spellbooks.
My friend swears by Mana Clash as the best thing for blowing up enemy casters, but I haven't unlocked it so I can't say for sure.

lol. There is a dagger that intterupts casting if you do Shales quest you might find it. Not sure at how well it works though, but it says it interrupts casting. But one thing I know that prevents them from casting is fire ball. On my second play through, got it at level 4 as a mage lol. So nice when you need a little extra power. As well as infernal. lol

I don't have any of the DLC, either.
I got Shale and the Blood Dragon Armor for free.. I want to get Wardens Keep and try to hit 20 so I can get another trophy. I had the assumption I could continue to run around to cities and do quests and kill things after I beat it..

          Re: Dragon Age: Origins

Wake me up when BioWare decides to finish this game. Three months after release, they announce an "expansion."

Looks like they're running on the Bethesda model almost entirely now.
          • Release incomplete game.
          • Leave bugs in game.
          • Put up "premium" content that contains "new" (read: withheld) content, but may or may not contain bug fixes.
          • Only put bug fixes in content you plan to sell, but this is purely optional.
          • Adding trophies gets priority, bug fixes ... maybe later. Gamers are weak-willed and will buy content for trophies and achievements, not demand quality.
          • Hype dialog branches as something innovative, even though it doesn't change the endgame at all.

The dialog options might not be the most spectacular, but they're at least interesting enough to keep me from skipping straight to another slugfest. The only game I've seen do it better is Planescape: Torment, and I don't think we'll ever see something on that level again.

I'm holding off on the DLC and waiting for them to release an add-on I can take out of a box. Hadn't heard about this "expansion" you mentioned though, care to enlighten me?

Haven't you heard? Players only care about the trophies now anyways. Get blasted by people when I say something against achievements, and Trophies now anyways. They just want to brag about what they did, and have proof. Thats all.

You know, it cracks me up about how people will go on and on about how unfair it is to charge monthly for an MMORPG, yet the same exact people can be suckered into an MMO-like formula that asks they buy multiple games per month.

I think most of us here tend to laugh at the people who get all excited about the prospect of gaining a new endgame event title. That actually predates the achievement/trophy trend, too. But there are people that seriously care about having the new title - to the point of an officer asking a member of their LS be kicked just so they can get the title as the mob is downed. Some even care to the point of backstabbing, but I digress.

But isn't getting the gear and beating the monster enough in and of itself? I got the perfect solution to parading around your accomplishments by other means than a title - just give us a means to take pictures within any game we play. Video clips even. Have a little blog-like setup on your PSN or Live account and post those pictures for bragging rights.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy actually lets you do screencaps and covert your replays to video. No silly PC setup required, no fussing with A/V cords to record or show off what you did.

All achievement systems are just some glorified title system. Rather than have someone setting the bar for you, show off what you did for yourself. Sure some people are going to lie and cheat, they'll do that with the current systems in place. They do it so they can feel good about themselves.

I have enjoyed this game so far. I went from COD to playing this, so it was a nice change. I like the feel of mmorpg but at my own pace. It has made me miss FFXI a little.
                      Thanks Kazuki.

Are people still liking this? I just bought a 55" 1080p 240hz LCD TV, i'm going to buy a PS3 soon, and ffxiii doesnt come out until March something, so if this game is good, im gonna pick it up in the meantime.

And if so, is there a class retrospectively that's best to be?

Rogue is freaking broken as hell from what I've heard.
My own experience with it leads me to believe this to be true. I'm dealing 40% of my party's damage, not to mention all the ways you can exploit the AI using a rogue. It's good stuff.

lol If you are as far into the game as I think you are, you have yet to meet a real dragon in the game. If you want to meet a dragon, just ring a Gong. Not gonna say where, or when so I do not spoil any parts of the story line, but you will know what I mean when you get to that point. Just save before you do lol.
