Even without the translation, you can kinda see that this one is going in the "things go bad" direction.

Which is kinda sad since these characters are already more awesome than Sora or Kairi. Funny how the characters who are the "chosen ones" are sometimes the least interesting ones in the story.

Then again, so was Luke Skywalker. Growing up, we didnt do Cowboys and Indians, we did Han and Luke. And I always got stuck being Luke. What does Luke get for all his trouble? Dead dad and finds out the chick he had the hots for was his sister. And has to rebuild the Jedi order by himself. Previous order had motherfucking Yoda - you do you follow that act?

Han got the girl, the starship and to be a hero. And he got to shoot things.

I'm just curious why, in retrospect to Roxas in 358/2 Days, certain people don't pop off at Roxas for looking like Ventus, but they do pop off at Xion because they see her as Ventus because that's how Sora's heart is affecting her. I know why Axel sometimes saw her as Ventus, because that was the only connection he had to Sora before meeting Sora.

But now that we see Saix might have met Ventus, too, so why did he see Xion as nothing more than a hooded puppet? We also have yet to see Sora and Ventus meed, though we see Terra meet Riku and Aqua meet Kairi.

They're maintaining the parallels pretty strongly. I'm just hoping that Castle Oblivion bit isn't just for show. I wanna go in again.

At what points in the plot did Axel see her as Ven? I can't recall. Everyone got sent to Castle Oblivion very early in the game, and it took a while for Xion to "take off her hood" to Axel, so hadn't Axel already met Sora?

Also it occurs to me that Lea might've befriended Ven to a small extent during BBS, and his human-like behavior in Days is partially an imitation of his behavior when he was friends with Isa and Ven. But it's still odd that no one thinks it's strange that Roxas looks like Ven. There IS that line about Ven asking Terra to "erase him", though, so maybe there's more to it.

That's true, but he also knew the truth about Xion long before Roxas did and there were scenes where he saw Xion as Ventus. I think it was when he got to know Roxas a lot better he started seeing her as more similar to Kairi.

That can't be right at all. One of the Secret Reports is Axel being surprised that Xion is a girl, the day they showed her taking her hood off to him the first time.

Axel is a dodgy character, though. He never tells anyone or anything what's fully going on unless its works in his favor. Would he omit things from his diary? I think he would. He went back to Castle O, found out the true nature of what Xion was and never revealed it to Roxas until he felt it was the right time.

There's possibly a lot more to this than we know that BBS will reveal, too.

There's a theory going around, partially based on my Terra theory, I'm gonna go ahead and put up spoiler tags. This isn't based on anyone that's played BBS, I think it comes out today in Japan, but this theory was posited about year ago on some other forum, and some of my theory spinning is in here as well:

The Two Heart Theory

It is often wondered why Roxas acts as though he has a heart. Only people with hearts can have keyblades, after all.

There is also the fact that Xenhanort's Heartless and Sora's Heartless were the only two Heartless retain an independant will of their own. Why was this.

Well, the theory has been posed that both Sora and Xehanort had two hearts residing within them. Before they became Heartless. But the6 why does Roxas seem to have so many more features in common with Ventus? Why does Xehanort's Heartless bear the fashion sense of Master Xehanort?



Xemnas bears a strong resemblace to Terra?



I think its because by the end of BBS, Master Xehanort's Heart merges with Terra's. Also, remember that Ventus asks Terra to "erase him" while nearby Sora? Could his heart have found its way into Sora's in a similar fashion? We'll havo to wait and see there.

So Sora releases his heart to save Kairi. Ventus' heart is released in this process and creates Roxas. He doesn't have Sora's memories because his heart is separated from Sora's, but since he has the heart of Ventus, he can still have a Keyblade.

Also, since Kairi has a heart of pure light and shares it with Sora, Sora can't really have a Nobody just like she can't have a nobody or a heartless. But he did have a heartless, so Ventus' heart was used to create Roxas as a Nobody with a heart.

Perhaps to Organization XIII, Roxas does look like Sora because they have such a strong connection and this is what makes them look at Xion so differently. Xemnas tells Roxas that "I've been to see him, he looks a lot like you." And yet, Sora and Roxas don't look alike at all.

Also, remember Ansem the Wise had a bit or remorse regarding Roxas, he came to realize that in the end, Roxas had a heart and he had basically done him wrong. His anger at Xemnas, however is not entirely unjustified.

Now back to that little chat Roxas has with Xemnas. If were to believe that Terra becomes Xehanort, why did he pick that name. If Xehanort was an amnesiac as Ansem the Wise claimed, then he could have picked the name from the strongest memory he had. Or he was lying and Master Xehanort had control of the body and exploited things to his advantage.

Terra is no scientist, after all, its Master Xehanort that's facinated with the study of the heart moreso than Ansem the Wise was. It would make sense that he would exploit Ansem.

Terra's heart seems to get very corrupted before the end of BBS if the previews are anything to go by, so much that perhaps Master Xehanort can enter his heart and take it over. And this would make sense because its exactly what Xehanort's Heartless attempts to do to Riku later, possibly because Riku had even greater potential than Terra.

Finally, I'm gonna do some pointing out some progression

Ventus > Sora > Sora's Heartless > Roxas
Terra > Xehanort > Xehanort's Heartless > Riku
Split> Xemnas
Aqua > Kairi > Namine > Xion

Now, omitting Xemnas,. We have four direct relationships for Sora, Riku and Kairi

If Ventus is the basis for the creation of Roxas, then Sora's progression makes sense.

If Master Xehanort overtakes Terra, becomes a heartless and tries to overtake Riku, this progression also makes sense. Riku masters his dark powers and eventually Xehanort is purged entirely.

But what of Xemnas? There has to be a reason why Terra shows up in KH II Final Mix as a boss - he's totally displaced even from Xemnas. Master Xehanort assumed his physical features and gained control of his heart so greatly there wasn't ev[n room for Terra as a Nobody, he's a spirit.

If that's true, then Master Xenhanort's final ambitions reside in Xemnas, which is the most likely theory. But Xemnas doesn't only kind of look like Terra, he looks a lot like Terra and I have a hard time ignoring that.

If were to go by the rules of Namine and Roxas being special Nobodies with hearts and special powers, but no memories, then Xemnas would have to follow those conditions as well. But he already lost his memory before and being created from the same moment as Xehanort's Nobody, he has to be aware of its existence and meaning.

So could be he's a Nobody with Terra's heart and Xehanort's memories, but the manipulative nature of Master Xehanort still lurking within. He can fake not having a heart and pass as a Nobody because he has memories, just none of being Terra beyond the subconscious level.

Perhaps he sees Sora as Ventus because of the bond he once shared with Ventus and thus sees Roxas as looking just like Sora for that reason, since Ventus came to reside in the heart of Sora, a boy fated to connect the hearts of everyone he meets. This would explain why he told Roxas, after encountering Sora at Hollow Bastion, that Sora looks a lot like him. Terra's subconscious memories resonated with Sora's Heart and he saw Ventus.

This would also explain why he could see Xion as Ventus, too, but never makes the association to Ventus like Xigbar clearly does. Ventus was also the one with the Kingdom Key and since Xion could copy that, it probably forced him to see her as Ventus on missions and agitated him to no end.

For everyone else, Roxas is just Roxas. Axel and Saix might just have light memories of Ventus and Roxas might not raise any eyebrows at his appearance. Some years passed before they become Nobodies, too, probably easy to forget what some other kid they barely remember looked like.

And if Xemas came to learn of his true origin while in Organization XIII, it explains the aquistion of Aqua's armor and also why he wants to find the chamber Ventus resides in, finding him might have brought him another step closer to restoring his full memories as Terra.

And there's more, but that's all I feel like twisting my brain around for now.

That completely defeats the purpose of a diary, and of letting the player see the Secret reports in the first place.

That theory was TL;DR but there's another candidate for Xemnas' somebody. Vanitas has yellow eyes as seen in the last trailer.

What they sound like

Ven's is a mix of dearly beloved, Sora's and Roxas. Aqua's has bits of Kairi's and Xions. I can't find Terra's, oh well, not going to look hard.
