I know this thread has progressed since the 1st page (actually, only once Icemage chimed in it seemes) but -- the same people who wanted to bicker about what directx version is supported for FF13 and the RAM capacity of the PS3 are the ones toting the "gameplay before graphics" moral high ground.

Those of us touting "gameplay before graphics" are the ones that don't mind that there's a 360 version, regardless of which console we have. the ones bitching about the graphics are the ones mad as hell there is a 360 version and have been looking for any excuse to decry the existence of a 360 version since it was announced.

Only a total fuckwit would have bothered to piece together an "expose" on how the PS3 version is "dumbed down" because of the 360 version. Bottom line, there's no merit to what they said until we see both versions finalized side by side. I'm pretty sure there will be some humble pie for those that cried like a brat over a 360 version.

Think about it: When have you ever played a console main series Final Fantasy game that was totally halfassed from start to finish? SE tends to go all-out for Final Fantasy, regardless of platform. The DS and PSP offerings certainly didn't feel lacking.

Also, where are these guys on Metal Gear Rising, eh? There's another holy Sony franchise that has parted from exclusivity. Is it OK because Xbox guys just get the game with Raiden and not Snake? Seriously, where's the rage there? It was there for DMC4 and FFXIII.

I'm surprised Mal said something about a character and not about the complete change in the ramp (broken bridge?) behind the characters.

Although I am disappointed in the large difference between the two images, I'm not going to rage over it as without actually going into the production team's building and literally looking over their shoulders, we cannot say with absolute certainty what caused the change.

I agree with Mal.

I won't jump to conclusions and say this is the definitive reason for the graphics downgrade, but if it's true, there's a lot of merit to it.

high ground? How can it be "high ground" when its true -.- ,now granted, not to the extreme of going to 8-bit... but really?, the "downgrade" is not that much as people are blowing it up to be. Would you rather the game still look like it did in the PS3 demo, but other things from the game removed instead? No, because that would not work at all -.-

The game still looks great, and the story will be good, along with game play, so the game overall will be a keeper.

To me as long as a game does not go back more then one gen graphics wise, then its at the slandered of current gaming, and the next thing you should be looking at is game play.

To be fair, I think only Activision programs DLC content like it was for Dreamcast still. Otherwise the only company that doesn't actually finish RPGs and wants you to pay more for bits and pieces of games they never really intended to finish/polish is really just Bethesda.

Many companies these days do real DLC content that is new content and not just hidden somewhere on the disc, but for FFXIII I expect one complete game. Downloadable quests for games like this are tacky.

This right here. I loved the GTA4 downloadable stories, as well as Fable 2's DLC (albeit somewhat short) but anything else really IS just plain stupid. Either way, complaining about a graphics "dumb-down" is like crying over spilled milk, cant do diddly shit about it. So stfu, get over yourself, and wait for the final product, THEN judge.

Well yeah, same for me, I dont even have a PS3, and could care less if they released an updated FFXIII for the PS3, I would still ahve my copy on 360 and still be perfectly happy

I made that comment, because before I said, I hated SE's "equality" crap excuse, and someone mention about a deal MS has with SE about that *shrugs*

Well, they can't squeeze everything in simply because it takes months to come up with shit, and that means more development money....if they can't give it to me then, then I'll wait until later...

And tbh, almost all games have some dlc in one form or another...

I just bought Infinite Undiscovery which was published by SE, and it had DLC....it was free though...
