  • Heavy Rain Corner Store Gameplay

Man I can not freaking wait for this game. The only other games I can recall like this that I really enjoyed were Day of the Tentacle (still 1 of the best games ever IMO) and Hotel Dusk (too bad that game was a little too linear)

For all the awesome of zombie people in Drake's Fortune, they seem to have gotten over that for the second game.

Still doesn't make it any less creepy when it still happens in new games. Or that the creepy Madden 2000 eyes still manage to make their rounds into newer games. I would be grateful if many developers would tone down some focus on skin and clothing textures if it meant making their characters look more human. That or just go for a unique art style so they don't even have to do that.

That said, Heavy Rain look like some kind of movie Russell Crowe should be in and it a movie I'd probably skip because I've seen it before.

        INDIGO PROPHECY NEXT.

Fuck All Y'alls and your "Zombie" crap. NEW INDIGO PROPHECY-STYLE GAME!

Maybe not the greatest game in the world in other ways, but it's exactly the sort of style that more developers need to be picking up on.

Quantic Dream is incredibly unique. Case and Point is, yes, Indigo Prophecy. Shabby graphics (late PS2 era but graphics are very... early PS2), definite gameplay problems. Buuuuuuut it's at least interesting and completely different.

I freakin' love about 85% of the Indigo Prophecy story. The shady bits I can overlook, because the game is presented so amazingly well. I strongly advise anyone who cares about plot to try the game out. Will Heavy Rain be as good? Maybe; maybe not. But you bet your ass they have my business.

Incidentally, I just ordered "Omikron: The Nomad Soul" last week. It should be arriving tomorrow.

I shouldn't be up this early. I've thanked Feba 3 times in under an hour.

Looking forward to it?! I've never pre-ordered a game in my life, but I intend to pre-order this one. I enjoyed Indigo Prophecy that much.

Now if I could only get Day of the Tentacle to actually play on my PC

I found some complicated app that supposedly works but it was too much for me. I could have sworn I followed the steps to the letter but the damn thing just wouldn't run and I gave up lol.

Hate to break it to you, but most games of this type are on the PC or DS, we just call them point-and-click adventures. This is essentially what Shenmue could have been boiled down to as well, but they wanted to fill that game up with people who didn't want to help you and had more important things to do, like walk home slowly or stuff thier face with ramen.

Why you sold your DS when games of this kind come out on it is a mystery all its own

BBQ, all adventure games are not created equally.

I have nothing against the point-and-click adventure genre, but it is VERY MUCH different from interactive cinema like Indigo Prophecy, and games like Indigo Prophecy are equally different from games like Shenmue.

It's like comparing GTA to Max Payne, or Crazy Taxi. Or comparing Tony Hawk to Jet Grind Radio or Mirror's Edge. Or Metroid to Mega Man or Metal Gear Solid. You can definitely see similarities, and they're not wholly unrelated, but the gameplay is really so different that you're doing all of the games a disservice by lumping them together in a single 'adventure' genre.

I've had this game pre-ordered since early this year. Can't wait! Many different ways to play the same game = awesome. I love the relatively unobtrusive context-sensitive gameplay button indicators in the environment as well.

My point was you seem to like the genre, but are playing it on a console where its never going to take off because of its style of play and the stubbornness of its respective audience.
