Re: Wii "Walk it Out!"
I'd still wager this sells more than Eye of Judgement did for PS3.
God, what a depressing concept that was. Technologically clever, but still depressing.
Let's play a card game... you sit at your empty table on your side of the internet and I'll sit at my empty table on my side of the internet. This needed a camera to work, too, even though plenty of TCG games did it before without it.
Some concepts for games these days just are so out there you wonder how they got approved to start with. There are plenty of good fitness game concepts on Wii as is, but walking is something most of us cover well enough on our own, that is, unless you're that much of a couch potato.
Treasure World for the DS is a collection game that encourages you to go out for a walk, the twist, though, is that you set up your DS to detect WiFi connections, put it in sleep mode and walk around. For every unique Wifi signal you detect, you get a unique item. You can take these items and decorate your character and his living space, upload your data to the Treasure World site and share how your place and character looks with other people on that site in a myspace/Cribs kind of way, I suppose.
I don't even know if I'd call it a game, but at least its unique, interesting and caters to collection-minded gamer. I like the Pokemon Pedometer concept because, again, I'm getting game rewards for moving around.

. I'll admit that I have a Wii fit and that EA Sports Fitness game but this walking game would be the last thing I'd look at. If this game isn't 19.99 or lower, it'd just be cheaper to break down and get a Wii Fit and walk with the controller, either that or just go outside and walk around the block.
