I'm more interested in seeing what will be M$'s move next year. Given that the PS3 will only gain momentum in the following years*.

Maybe Xbox720 for 400 bucks?





* Blu-ray and much better use of the PS3 hardware are already starting to make a big difference, and it will only get better.

well my Elite finally got the red rings after so long and when i went o go return it they were out, and i bought my elite in 07, so they gave me a gift card for $490. I bought a PS3, MGS4, and it paid partly for Killzone 2. Seems like a fair trade to me.

The contradiction was that any trade involving receiving Killzone 2 was a fair trade. It sucks.

I'm calling bullshit on this. Sony said post-E3 they would not do it, and if they were gonna announce a drop don't you think they would have done so at their own conference?


My guess (along with that guy from "The Bonus Round" on GT) is they are waiting for the Holidays. That's when a drop will make the most sense and rack up sales.

I see a price drop on older models if they ever release a "slim" PS3. An out of the blue price drop is something I doubt they would do.

Doesn't matter to me if they don't bring back BC.

Hell, Sony, sell a version of the slim that costs however much more and only adds in backwards compatibility. It'll sell.

I see a price drop on older models if they ever release a "slim" PS3. An out of the blue price drop is something I doubt they would do.

Not to mention that price-dropping PS3 so soon before the release of PSP Go might steal attention away from the PSP Go itself. Wii sales took a brief dip when DSi Came out and it was clear Nintendo has shifted some attention that way for a time.

PSP and PS3 only cross over here and there, so if they want to move units of each at a good rate, its best not to distract where the money goes.
