  • LittleBigPlanet + ICO = <3

Nothing announced or confirmed at the moment, but this just went out via e-mail to numerous press sites from MediaMolecule.

Game director previously hinted at some upcoming Ratchet & Clank content coming soon (said it was just finishing up) so this may be the next big pack.

LBP will have a big show at E3, with the PSP version and upcoming content. Looking forward to it.

    ...awesome

Hell I still remember the custom ICO level from when LBP first opened up. It was one of the greatest stages I've played in that game.

Wouldn't kill Sony to put Ico up on PSN. Its not like any existing PS2 could still play it anyway. I saw a copy today and I would have gotten it, but then I remembered all the times I got disc read errors.

Ico-themed LBP levels are cute and all, but I'd like to see a playable version of the actual game again since PS2 likes to make it unbootable.

BBQ, my launch PS2 still works. I agree that they should definitely release it on PSN (PSP2plzkthx), and I hope that comes along with this. But it's not like the PS2 is a dead platform.

You do know there was a class action lawsuit against Sony for the failure rates of PS2s last gen, right? So it doesn't matter how well yours works, as popular as the platform might have been, its was terrible hardware. Sony seems to have straightened up with PS3, considering how few complaints there have been. So that class action lawsuit worked out.

Could I make Ico run on my PS2? Possibly. I know exactly what is wrong and how to fix it, its just the fact that no metter how many times I fix the lens - and even if Sony fixed it - this thing would DRE because it was designed to in time.

If you crack open your PS2 (older models, not slimline) there's this little white gear that controls the alignment of the lens. you just take a tiny screwdriver to remove the plate that restricts this gear and tweak it til the len is angled so it reads all discs again. But when you put everything back together and play your PS2, that little disc eventually clicks its way out of alignment even with that little restricting plate in-place.

Its certainly not a dead platform, but it sure was designed to die. I'm just tired of cracking the thing open time and again to read CDs and dual-layered DVDS. One day it will boot up MGS and the next day it DREs. Meh.

I'm not saying it's the most stable platform ever, but acting like all PS2s everywhere have this problem, and therefore nobody can play Ico anymore is ridiculous.
