Re: Next Week's Issue of Famitsu PSP+PS3 Features "NEW METAL GEAR"

Well, as the timer has gotten down to the last few minutes, the image of "5" or "S" seems to keep popping up.

    Seems like an MGS5

Right now the timer says 117:08:00

And this was brought to you by the letter E for Espera in spanish.

S or 5, E, some backwards g thing. maybe an a in stupidland. maybe an @ sign in alarm clock blocky letters. and then a 3. After that, I think it reset. And my time shows 115 hours.

They remade MGS1 for gamecube, and Feba has Wiipower. MGS2 is on PS2, and it doesn't look bad enough to warrant a remake yet. Hop to.

The clock reset... weird. I had just like a few minutes when I made the previous post and then the site went blank for a half hour or so and reset o.O

Yeah, I don't think Twin Snakes, Sons of Liberty or Snake Eater look as though they're in need of a remake. Hell, the PSX version of MGS wasn't that bad off in the last generation. Nice it got reissued with the collection, too.

His other project is probably ZoE 3. Joystiq reported a while back that he's gauging interest in PS3 owners for ZoE 3 (oh man I hope he makes good on that)

I think he was referring to the original MG and MG2 needing a remake not MGS.

Honestly, Ihave the original MGS, but not Twin Snakes. I honestly think the PS1 game looks better; if not technically speaking, artistically and stylistically. Plus it has the "wow, this looks pretty good for a ten year old game" advantage, whereas Twin Snakes is basically "This looks like a mediocre gamecube title."

but yeah, I was referring to MG/MG2SS, the MSX games. Of course, I wouldn't be opposed to remaking all of the MGS games, but then I'd want them in a single title, and that's not really feasible or needed.

I haven't played the original MG or MG2 in years, and I've never played the JP versions, but I read that the US versions were pretty drastically different, atleast in the endings. Does anyone else remember this?

If they do redo 1 they damn well better keep "Uh oh, the truck have started to move."

last I checked, Kojima thinks the NES port of Metal Gear was a shit game. A reference or two might be thrown in, but it won't be an adaptation of it.

I think thats what I was thinking of. I just remember an article about all the different MG games before MGS 2 or 3, can't remember when exactly.

There wasn't even a Metal Gear fight in the NES version of Metal Gear.

Well, I remember I had to plant C4 on this supercomputer to prevent Metal Gear from becoming operational.

Anti-climactic, yes. But the escape was really the final challenge in that version

The really damning thing about NES Metal Gear isn't even the horrible bugs and crappy translation, it's the inexplicable changes. The infiltration being a great example; why the hell was that added? and why the other paratroopers?
