      Happy to finally see some zerg in action. I wish there was more unit by unit explanation of the new queen and the roaches and infester. The multiplayer side is really good, though obviously there are still units and abilities that are still being designed and implemented and there's some balance work to be done. If only I were able to play at the level that these guys are at when the game comes out.

      They need to hurry up and finish with the Terran campaign.

          I still can't believe how badly Cooper blew that advantage. Kim was absolutely on the ropes and Cooper had three bases going, yet still had it turned around on him.


          Also, wtf Kim was the one who swung first O-o

              I assumed he held back to lengthen the match. They are first and foremost trying to tease the fans with this gameplay footage, it wouldn't make sense to have the Zerg player rush and win in a few minutes.

              I am now wondering if it's just that they were holding back or if SC2 is actually going to be this slow paced. The Zerg player didn't have Hydralisks for what.. 18 minutes? And in that same amount of time the Terran player only built a few Barracks and a Starport. I am pretty excited about the game but I do hope it doesn't actually take that long to tech up.

                  I don't think that's the case at all. They didn't tease with the first video in the least, it was a constant back & forth and was quite brutal. I believe the commentator's remarks of him "waiting too long" to attack was what got him; he likely just had a brief lapse debating if he should rush in for the kill or lock him down until he can muster an even bigger force. Just goes how any indecisiveness can cost you in a game between pros.

                  I mean he had the guy dead to rights and blew it. I do believe that they were playing around a bit though with some of the newer units. Last I checked, the current version of SC2 still has Firebats (Blizz is still unsure if they will remain in the final version or not and they've been adding/removing them frequently with each new build) and I was trying my hardest to make out the various units he had the option to build.

                  I could make out the Marines, Reapers and Ghosts but I couldn't tell if there were bats. If there were, all the more shame on Kim for not building them >_>

                    Hydras seem to be a tier 2 unit at least, replaced by the roaches in their slot on tier 1.

                    I'm not really sure how Zerg lost either. I'd have to watch it again. He did such huge damage to the terran player in the beginning and had a huge resource advantage. The hunter seeker missiles took out a few good chunks of units but not enough to explain the sudden disappearance and reversal of that advantage Zerg had been building up in the first more-than-half of the game.

                      Quite simply, he didn't keep the pressure up.

                      I can't wait to try out the roaches personally. I actually am glad they made Hydras tier 2, because it always just too easy to mass produce them fairly early into the game which generally spelled doom for any Terran player. It also seems like they've gotten a bit of a stat boost (as have Marines with 45 base HP instead of 40 O.o yay now we can stim them 4 times!)

                      Speaking of which, where the hell were the stim packs? Seems to me researching stims and that shield would have put a hell of a lot of pain on the Zerg forces. I also have to wonder if they'll finally let us Stim marines while they're inside a bunker (though, IIRC, at Blizzcon they said you still have to stim them prior to going inside a bunker). And Marauders take up 2 Bunker slots! O.O

                      I think probably the biggest mistake and 1 of the turning points in the fight was when Kim threw down those D-8 charges with the Reapers and Cooper failed to notice them. Had he simply backed away in time he could have kept on attacking. What's bugging me most about the Zerg now those is their regeneration. Is it just the Roaches that recover that fast, or all zerg when they burrow? I'm betting it's just Roaches but even if that's the case, holy crap what a wonderful hit & run unit!

                      The last thing I'm gonna mention is the Queen... hell in a hand basket it's a tier 1 unit now!!! Either that or you start with one... either way that is some scary shit having a Queen so early into the game, and they're no longer defenseless casters!

                        The queens in SC2 seem to be a total departure from the SC1 queens. Ground vs air, tier 1 vs tier 2, attack vs no attack .. The only ability they showcased was increasing larvae production at a hatchery, but there were two other unresearched spells. Very curious.

                        I dig their replacement for the sunken colony. I think it was called a Spine Crawler. It's like a compromise between a sunken colony and a lurker, mobility but a single target attack. I wonder if they can only burrow on creep.

                          If you check out the FAQs (I posted it a while ago but the link is probably buried now by newer topics) the Queen still has her Spawn Broodling ability and at least 2 other spells, 1 of which is new (I forget what they do but it was explained)

                          the interesting thing would be, since she's ground based now, can she broodling aircraft? I'm thinking No tbh though, because that'd be just retarded using Broodling on a Battle Cruiser (and I'm also fairly certain the THOR will be immune as well)

                            She can attack aircraft, but I doubt something like a carrier would be considered biological for the purposes of the spell. Something like a banshee maybe since they only have on pilot. They'd count like a tank or goliath would. And if her standard attack hits air, I bet broodlings would too.

                              Why would broodlings hit air? They're basically miniature zerglings (which in itself is bizarre)

                              O. O ... what if they bring back the Scourge but with a new mutation! Hell, Zerglings finally get to mutate... oh god if they have a mutation for Ultralisks...
