    Just thought I'd post a link to the interview with the guys that localized this game, its sounds like its going to be really fun. It was released today, but I probably won't be picking it up til friday or so.

    More or less, this is based on the old wireframe and text RPGs a la Wizardry and such. Chaotic, Neutral and Law alignments.In fact, you can turn off the graphics to experience in wireframe and all the old bleeps and bloops and shoddy music games used to have back in the day.

    Gotta give it to Altus, they're putting out a big variety of unique and interesting RPGs this year. No one else would have gone this old-school.

      Got enough trade-credit to pick it up, but GS isn't getting it in til tomorrow.

      Bonus for Dark Spire is, in usual Atlus fashion, that they've included a soundtrack CD.

      Looking forward to Steal Princess and Devil Summoner 2 from them next month, they look to be awesome. Steal Princess is a puzzle/platformer that will have a level creator and you can upload and trade created levels online.

      Devil Summoner 2 got a lot of boosts to gameplay over the original game. Twice as many demons to summon, the old capture style is out and demon contracts (a la SMT: Nocturne and classic Persona) are back in, Ally AI is improved, you can summon up to two demons at once and Raidou has learned some new attacks.

      They also put some big glowing icons beneath your summons so you don't get them confused with the enemies, which actually helps a bit.

          Guess I'll throw in that link while I'm at it.

          Actually some of the retro music isn't that bad, in some places its better than the Arranged versions of the song.

          Can't wait to pick it up tomorrow. Anyone that liked Etrian Odyssey will probably enjoy The Dark Spire.

            Got my copy Thursday afternoon.

            Its pretty cool so far. And hard as I expected it to be. All the frills of modern RPGs are gone in this game, even the little progressive designs of Etrian Odyssey.

            It may be hard to find though, stores don't seem to be getting a lot of copies in.
