    GDC09: Actual Batman: Arkham Asylum gameplay footage, no joke


    Click the link for a video demo of the new Batman: Arkum Asylum gameplay. OMG is it ever epic with the "Stealth Predator" system. Reminds me a hell of a lot of MGS gameplay (hence the thread title lol)

        This wasn't the first Batman game made like that lol. I'm pretty sure this Batman Begins game was kinda like that too. It had some stealthy stuff and you had to scare the peeps before you fought em otherwise they would be too strong and sometimes too many. I said it was like Splitter Cell since I played the Xbox version lol.

          Well, Batman is supposed to be stealthy.

          He's supposed to be a detective, too.

          I'd like them to get both elements in one game, but I'll settle for them just making one good Batman game for once.

            Well, my brother and I have said for a long time they should make a Batman game similar to the recent Spider Man movie games, but with the emphasis on stealth and finding clues and not so much traveling and repetitive side quests.

              I wouldn't want a Batman game following the recent Spiderman games, given they were complete crap.

              Spiderman on PSX is till the best Spiderman.

              Not that I wouldn't want to see a Batman title with roof top jumping on a GTA kind of scale. In fact, that's exactly the sort of level Batman needs to be working at. They could even make decent multiplayer of a Batman game given there are other vigilanties in Gotham City. Robin, The Huntress, Lynx, Catwoman, Riddler and Man-Bat are all on the side of the heroes of late. Yeah, Riddler became sane (well, for now, Two-Face wend sane a couple times, didn't stick).

                I refuse to get my hopes up. I'm tired of getting my hopes up and watch as they are completely dashed when the game is released and it sucks. I rarely even follow pre-release hype anymore since its all so fake anyways.

                  I meant in regards to the freedom to explore all of NY (or in this case Gotham) because apart from the awesome freedom yes, the recent Spider Man games have all sucked horribly.

                  But keep the stealth predator element as well as puzzle solving and looking for clues (including interrogations)

                    There is only one solution: a GTA4 expansion pack.


                    Give Niko a cape and lower the gamma and you're %85 of the way to an awesome Batman game.
