Re: Resident Evil 5
Dead Space would be amazing for co-op, especially if 1 person has to do something in 1 section of the ship to allow the other player to progress and vice versa.
So skipping the huge climax they were building up to with RE 1-3 and CV and then substituting it with 2 poorly written sequels was better? I mean as games RE 4 and 5 were genuinely fun, but the game play elements and especially the story have suffered miserably IMO. They're just not survival horror anymore.
Hell, we're not even shooting at zombies anymore. At least in Left 4 Dead the infected are still for all intents and purposes zombies (though I do miss my shambling hordes that take a bajillion bullets to die and are best just avoided).
I think Capcom should go back to what made RE great originally and quit pandering to the Halo Crowd (and that goes double for Konami with Silent Hill WTF the last 3 games have all been shit). I like the new over the shoulder camera and the coop, what I don't care for is the severe lack of puzzle solving & ammo and money being littered everywhere. I really do miss being forced to decide on the fly if it's worth spending a few bullets to bring down a particular zombie or monster, or if I should just make a run for it and hope I don't have to back track later.
At least the ending to the RE story was conclusive though, they didn't leave any loose ends at all (except for Ada and the other members from past games who made it out but in the grand scheme of things I doubt that matters) so whatever alternate story/timeline they decide to use for the next series of games will hopefully be good.
