Has anyone been playing it? I know the demo was out and I already skimmed through the demo thread. I have been wondering about something in particular though, which is the co-op mode. I have a hard time imaging that the Xbox360 version can co-op online with the Ps3 version, but it would be wonderful if it could. I've been searching around for awhile and have been trying to find out if they do in fact not allow a co-op overlap or if they did in fact include that feature. Can anyone confirm or deny that there is co-op play between the system versions?

Re: Resident Evil 5
I can't give you anything official, but given that every other multi-platform game does not allow you to play with people cross platform I would imagine RE5 doesn't either.

Re: Resident Evil 5
What gave you the impression it might be co-op on multi-platform?
XBL and PSN are separate networks. The reason FFXI works on both systems is because you're not using either service, just connecting to POL and FFXI's servers.
The game's out in 4 days and I'm likely gonna just rent it, though I haven't decided what platform. On the 1 hand I likes my Dual Shock 3 and Blu Ray, but then I'd be playing it alone since everyone I know would rather be on XBL.

Re: Resident Evil 5
Nothing gave me that impression except for the explicit lack of mention for either regard. I by all means knew that logically it most likely would not be, but that little idealistic part of me was hoping that maybe, just maybe they would. It would be a very desirable aspect for a lot of games if just on some games they would allow a co-op cross over.Twilightrose- THF/49 WAR/24 WHM/53 BLM/32 RNG/15 BST/25 NIN/27

Re: Resident Evil 5
Haven't played it yet, but due to a moronic mistake at the department store i got it atz, have a copy of it now.. 3 days before it launches. I'm almost a little hesitant to play it yet because my PS3 is connected to the internet via wifi and who the fuck knows what info my PS3 sends to who. Anyone think it's a bad idea to play a game (with some kind of online connectivity) that I'm not supposed to have yet?Last edited by Ameroth; 03-09-2009, 11:26 PM.

Re: Resident Evil 5
Probably not. Plenty of game reviewers have copies by now, and plenty of games get sent early via giveaways, preorders, and so on; I really doubt they'd take any action against you for playing it early. If they do, take it to the media and make a stink about it. Only reason to act on people like that is if it's obviously pirated, which it isn't.

Re: Resident Evil 5
Sorry Malacite, but no. Street dates are enforced via a contract with the retailer. The idiots that sold it might get in trouble, but Ameroth has no such contract with Capcom or Sony, and there's no legal reason he can't play media they release if he's the rightful owner.

Re: Resident Evil 5
Just beat the game the other day...
Not terribly happy with Capcom's decision to end the story that way but what else can they do? The series isn't over, but the current story arc has been concluded (Umbrella, Wesker etc) it's all wrapped up nicely in the end so now the question is where does Capcom take the series next?
I'm still kinda pissed that we never got that huge attack on Umbrella's HQ that they were leading up to with RE 2 3 and CV. What the hell happened to Barry, Rebecca, Billy and Carlos? What are Ada and HUNK up to now? BLEH!!! (They kind of shit all over what they did in the RE4 extras with 5 but oh well...)
Also, the game was ridiculously easy for the most part wtf! Anyone else find the last boss to be a major disappointment? The real "challenge" of the game is Pro mode but.... well, F that. I don't care if it's a trophy/achievement, I'm not playing the game where you die in 1 hit.

Re: Resident Evil 5
By Pro do you mean Veteran?
I know in Veteran mode if you're grabbed it's quite possible to be killed right there, no matter how much life you have. You can move that stick back and forth all you like, you're dead. Other than that, enemies are a little faster, are a little harder to kill, and bosses require an extra round or two of whatever it takes to kill them. It's not that difficult, really. Upgrade your guns, buy the zombie zapper, learn how to combo, and you're golden.

Re: Resident Evil 5
Ah, I unlocked that the other day and finally realized what you were talking about. I have a problem with the discrepency in my lunging distance compared to the enemies', so I think Proffessional mode would probably be detrimental to my sanity after prolonged exposure. Plus, I have really bad timing with my stun stick. I wave it around threateningly, but zombies don't care about threats, they need action.

Re: Resident Evil 5
So, should I keep playing RE4 instead?
PS > Did Capcom stick with the demo controls? Because I really disliked them after playing Dead Space.sigpic
