I also heard that the current homebrew carts will not work with the DSI awhile back. However by the time it comes out in the US it may be possible, either there'll be a update or a new cart.

I look at the DSi like this. If I own a DS Lite already, then its not worth the money to buy a DSi. A camera? I have a digital camera and my phone takes pics. Bigger screen? The screen on a DS Lite is fine and is 17% really worth the money? No GBA slot? Ya this is a huge WTF to me even though I play most of my GBA games off my EZ Flash. That way I avoid that cartridge sticking out issue. LOL

Don't own a DS Lite and don't care about playing GBA games? Then you might like the DSi. I predict you'll fiddle with the little extra crap they put on it but in the end you'll rarely use it.

Whether the DSi is worth it over the lite is pretty much completely dependent on taste. Personally, I almost think it's worth it just for not having fingerprint-magnet-shiny-plastic. Lots of people will appreciate being able to use their DS as an mp3 player WITHOUT having to mess with flash carts. most people probably have a digital camera by now, but not everyone does, and it's one less thing to carry. I personally didn't have a use for the GBA slot, and it actually annoyed me that it was there; so having something without it but with an SD card slot is an improvement.

For probably %85 of gamers, though, the real question to going to come down to DSiWare. And they haven't really done too much with that-- yet.

There really aren't many GBA games I crave aside from the ones in dire need of a reissue anyway. DSi could solve the reissue problem so I don't have to look around Amazon or get the Hong Kong special off eBay.

Plus they could do a lot of updating to those games, create original GBA software, remake GB and GBC games and such as DSiWare, so I don't think I'll miss the GBA slot yet, its just being repurposed for a more contemporary business model.

I'd love to see Metroid II and Zelda: Link's Awakening updated, along with updates to stuff like the Revelations series (what they called Shin Megami Tensei games ages ago), Wario Land and such.

I still play Megaman Zero games to this date on my GBA slot when I want something on the go, among other things like Gunstar. I'm half-tempted to invest in a micro if I could ever find one cheap(don't trust Gamestop), the amount of GBA games I own is ludicrous and with a flash card I can pretty much have all my games + an MP3 player in the literal palm of my hands.

Even if majority of the games were rehashes of old games, I still find the GBA to be one of the best things last gen, over some consoles. Shit now I gotta head to ebay to look at Micros >_<

I collected all the Final Fantasy titles on GBA, along with Kingdom Hearts chain of memories, Metroid Fusion and Metroid Zero, and Zelda The Minish Cap... I don't think I could handle not being able to play them on my DS ^.^

I have all the GBA games I purchased on my EZ Flash so no cartridge sticking out of the slot and I don't have to lug around a lot of games. I do not keep games on it that I do not own though. Just my personal choice.

i think i could live without using the GBA slot. the idea of the camera though is pretty shocking. if they do that they might as well have added bluetooth a well ^^

decided on DS, just still not sure with DSi or DS. i guess because the GBA slot wont be used by me at all, i'm thinking of the DSi. but when is it out?

I have bluetooth headphones that I use on my iPod touch, if the DSI was bluetooth enabled I'd probably buy one for the heck of it.

The slot is not only good for GBA games haha

Oh yeah! and "My personal Fitness Coach" needs the GBA slot for peripheral.. and its required lol
