I've heard nothing about that being brought over, but then again I only heard about the cell phone version before now. I'd like to see it but I'm not sure how much I'd be willing to spend on it...

I would spend a whole 1600 point card on it if I had to ;p

Not a total waste. Cell Phone games have a huge market in Japan and are quite popular in the UK (not as popular as they were about 5-8 years ago but still a nice niche market) so SE should have little problem making money with it.

Well, even SE has backed out of a few cellphone projects to put them on handhelds instead, not to mention some of they are now virtual-console fodder as well.
I'm never happy with any cellphone game i've downloaded, perhaps because the ones Verizon gets don't seem to be of high quality. Perhaps if they released more RPGs - you know, something actually playable outside of Pac-Man - on these things, I'd have a higher opinion of cell phone games.
Mega Man III was a mistake to download, ugh, its not even playable.
S-E registered "The After Years" in Europe and the US for trademark and patent protection. Since the Japanese subtitle was "The After" its quite possible its jumping over the seas

True dat, Parasite Eve sequal was supposed to be cell phone based if I recall correctly.

Content descriptors: Alcohol Reference, Mild Fantasy Violence
Rating summary: This is a 2D role-playing game in which players embark on an adventure involving magical crystals and a mysterious kingdom. Players traverse across a field map or through dungeons and can enter into turn-based battles along the way. Players use a menu screen to select attacks or magic spells against tiny enemies (e.g., leopards, birds, knights, fish monsters, etc.) that blink and disappear when defeated. An item called "Bacchus Wine" is occasionally used to defeat enemies in battle.
Thanks for protecting us, ESRB! If our children see a character go into berserk after using an amphora of Bacchus' Wine, who knows what chaos and damage it would inflict on their poor minds.
Am I the only one who thinks this should be done MM9 style; reuse the exact same old sprites, gameplay, etc, with new elements?
Actually, really cool would be if they released it as an 'expansion pack' for FF4 on the VC, although I'm not sure if Nintendo would let them do that (let alone if it would be technically possible with however the VC works, and if there even are any FF games on VC)
There aren't any FF games on VC. Gotta remember that SE wanted in big on Nintendo's handheld market, I doubt we'll see the likes of any FF on VC anytime soon.
Maybe FF1 and FF2, but that's about all I'd expect.
I could see them unloading the old nintendo FF market to the VC. What I would really like to see speaking of RPG's on VC is the Mother series re-released more specifically NA releases of Mother and Mother 3 (Japanese only releases from the nintendo/GBA respectfully). I have a copy of EarthBound but its on its last legs and has been played to death. Now that would be some nice additions to the VC, or even DS.
