So I brought my disc over to my friend's house last night and I can rule that out since it played perfectly fine.

My theory is you have an older model that the store you purchased from has had for a while. Coulda been sitting in the back or a warehouse for long time. I would return it for another and ask the person getting you another console if it's possible to get one from their most recent shipment.

Probably the kind where you are shooting someone and thinking you are getting headshots but a few seconds later your lag catches up and he's teabagging your corpse.

Yeah, my lust for online shooters died cuz of that.

The kill-cam in CoD4 proved to me how broken online truly was... I'd think I was shooting someone in the face, then I'd see, via the kill cam, I was shooting scenery just about "5ft" behind them. Wasn't every time but enough leave a bad taste...

Halo 3 was always laggy depending on the map and how many players there were. Seemed the smaller maps were just a clusterF*!*! of frustration.

...and Gears 2 is just a glitcher's paradise. Between weapon slides, invisibility glitching, numerous shield glitches, and a major host advantage; I refuse to play anything except Horde and Campaign modes.

Unless he's getting lag when playing offline (as he said) which would have nothing to do with his internet connection.

It's your box or it's your disc. You seem to have ruled out the disc, so your only option is exchange the box.

I'm not a 360 tech expert, but the fact that when you look at the menu and it says "Play game on disc" instead of saying the actual title of the game suggests to me that your box isn't reading the disc properly so it's unable to display the title. I can't imagine an ethernet cable having anything to do with this.

The game lags like hell both online and offline and I have no clue what to do about it. My connection is perfect and no one is downloading anything the game just fucks up on me.

If he's only playing Halo 3 offline, he has bigger issues than whether his systems working right or not!

And this is exactly why Microsoft gets away with releasing poorly crafted products with a fuckton of problems, people dumb enough to keep giving them money for their shit.

It took years to RR and he has an extensive library for the platform. Since the one that died is a 'regular' 360 and he wants an Elite, he sees no reason to send it back for refurbishing/replacement. And I don't blame him. They'd just send another regular one. Ergo: he buys the Elite.

Besides, it's not like the PS3 has any good games on offer. We both dislike platformers and the majority of shooters. When XIII Versus is released, then we're both investing in a PS3. Until then, it's just a steaming pile of feces for a library.

Cool, so that's 2 people we get to lynch :D

Also, WOO HOO Ethernet Cable fixed everything and am back with bloody vengeance! Just came out of a Multi-Team Team Slayer match with a K/D of +20 (33 kills total) and got MVP ^^

I don't know. 360's are expensive, mostly useless, ugly after you actually have one, and every month they go red 'down there' and stop working.
